Lately I've been trying to be more aware of my food chain. In fact, one of my goals for 2007 is to catch, kill and gut my own fish - Jimmy thinks I'm crazy, but I really want to do it. I think it would be a good reminder of the whole circle food chain thing. Also, fish are slimy and blech, but I'd probably have an easier time with a fish than I would, oh say a deer (mmm... venison).
Gordon Ramsay on the other hand, apparently doesn't have a hard time at all. In an upcoming episode of his show, The F Word (BBC America carries it, but is behind a season), Ramsay proves why he is the man most British men admire by hunting a deer. The episode hasn't aired yet, so I don't know if he actually succeeded, but I do know that someone did because later he carries the deer carcass through his restaurant. I guess the special that night was venison?

This man will do anything for good PR. He was very jealous of Jamie cause Jamie (who has won numerous awards on telly) is very popular over here and I heard in the US also. Gordon only became interested in animals because it shows he cares (He doesn't give a sh*t about his suppliers, that I can promise). Sorry but Gordon is a fake. Most chefs in UK don't like him. They think he's funny and (frankly hedious).
1The restaurants he did try to help went out of business. I wonder why? God he is full of it.
2sorry when i say most chefs (i meant chefs in high end restaurants in london and celebrity chefs). I thought I shoud make that absolutely clear.
3Humans have moved beyond the food chain.
4Ya gotta eat.
5As long as you eat what you hunt I'm cool with that.
It's people that hunt merely for the sport that sicken me.
I definitely wouldn't want to be trying to enjoy my dinner and in walks the chef with the catch of the day thrown over his shoulder.
6Idk if Id be a happy patron seeing him carry the slain deer through the dining area.
7Yeah, I don't know if it is a great idea if he lugs it through the restaurant. That is kinda yuck.
8He does it to show off that he knows so much about animals. He probably doesn't even know how to identify a good dear from a bad dear.
9lol i do think gordon can b alittle bit of an idiot and he trys really hard to b all hard, which he cant really pull off awww, i find him kind of arkward but he is sweet somtimes, did u here he said us brits should start eating horses?!?!!
10No I didn't know that. I just think he's full of it. His head chef overdosed on coke (and died) a few years back. He said he didn't know his chef had a problem. Jesus he pushed the man hard. He knew but he chose to ignore it (for michelin stars sake). I just think that is really poor. I don't respect him at all.
11I think it's fine to hunt if you're going to eat it, but how disgusting to carry it through a restaurant. 1)People are eating and don't want to look their dinner in the eye. 2)How unsanitary!
12I agree, I wouldn't want to see that. I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of the food chain and where their food is coming from. No need to carry it in front of everyone. He seems a bit arrogant to me. Very unsanitary!
13jamie oliver all the way! hotness!!!!!!
and gross to carry the dead deer through the restaurant? uhm, loss of appetite...
14The show where Ramsay goes hunting has now aired. He takes his son hunting with him. He wants his children to hunt also. As if hunting the deer and bringing it into the restaurant isn't bad enough, he tells everyone the best way to catch an animal. Get this, he tells everyone that they need to lure the babies out of their dens, nests, etc.,etc.in order to get the parent animal. That means he not only wants to kill the adult animal, but wants to do it infront of the babies and also wants to leave the babies alone to try to fend for themselves and probably die due to it. Where is his conscience? EVERYTHING is not about eating. We are not starving and HAVE TO go kill animals, let alone leave the babies to die. This is what he is teaching his children and telling the audience to do. How does it differ from animal cruelty? It doesn't. It IS animal abuse. It is not even just hunting. It is also making certain that the babies are harmed physically and mentally at the same time. Doesn't he know that many places have laws about killing the female animals at certain times. His care and concern are NIL. We can no longer watch ANY of his shows. He is a disgusting human being and we use the term VERY loosely.
