Behind Valentine's Day and Christmas, Halloween is the third biggest candy-selling holiday of the year. For kids, trick-or-treating makes Halloween one of the year's best holidays; for adults, Halloween is an occasion to buy scrumptious sweets.
I've already purchased Reese's peanut butter cups, because they're my cutie's favorite. But what will you be handing out? Will it be your favorite candy (since you finally have an excuse to buy it!), or will it be something you don't like, so you won't eat it? Are you giving out traditional candy bars, or opting for homemade treats, like caramel apples or popcorn balls?

Regular sized (but single packs, not double) Reese's cups - the minis don't have the right PB to chocolate ratio IMO - and mini Twix bars. I put them out for a party we had last weekend, and we've been eating them very slowly all week. We have never had a single trick-or-treater knock on our door in the 3 years we've lived here, despite putting out lit pumpkins and the like, so it's unlikely we'll get many (if any) tonight. So we'll just have to kill the bowl ourselves
1Mini candy bars: Milky Way, Snickers, Maltesers, Mars, Twix. And also individually wrapped truffles (different flavors).
2is it bad? i don't really get stuff for trick or treaters. for myself - i live in an apt building and i just hope that no one comes by cause i don't have money to buy candy and i just don't really feel like dealing with the nonsense. i have a feeling that i'll be safe for the most part. it has to be difficult to be a kid and trick or treat in NYC.
3Got some Craisins small bags to attempt healthful snackery, as well as Annie's Cheddar Bunnies in little bags. But of course I also got a smorgasbord of chocolatey badness like KitKat to even it out.
4Your going to try giving them craisins? Didn't you see gigglesugars post here? http://www.gigglesugar.com/2431524 lol
5I still have to buy my candy, I'm going to get reeses!
I have snickers and hot tamales (mini packs) bc they are my husband's favorite and I don't like em. haha
6My mom just gets the giant back of candy mix or whatever. I'm going out so I don't care, haha.
7Superfox, I LOVE craisins, I'm SO coming to your house!!!
mini candy bars - milky way, snickers, three muskateers. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of kids. it's really cute to see them in their costumes!
8We don't get trick or treaters at our condo complex, so the fiance and I are dining out tonight!
9We rent the top half of a house, so we don't really get Trick or Treaters. We still buy a bag of candy just in case, and whoever decides to knock on our door gets as many Hershey minis as they can grab. Then we spend the rest of the night eating the rest and watching horror movies.
10Reeses pieces.
11Butterfinger, Airheads, Chupa Chup lolipops, board game candy and runts. Its a trick-or-treaters ultimate bowl!
12I'll probably just grab a mix bag of minis on my way home from work.
13I bought $50 in candy so I have a great variety!
All the good stuff!
I will have my way with the leftovers if I have any!
14My first Halloween at this house. I'm not sure if the kids trick or treat or not around here. But I bought a variety bag of Reese's candies. I might have eaten one or two pieces already.
15Our trick or treat was last night. We bought 2 assortment bags with things like Laffy Taffy, Tootsie Rolls, Nerds, Runts, Tootsie Pops, Sweet Tarts & other goodies.
We also bought King Size bags of M&Ms to hand out to the neighbor kids we know the best. Now we're the coolest! LOL
16We handed out Yummy Earth Organic Lollipops, the bag had about 50-60 lollies in it and we used the whole bag plus some Ghiradelli I found in the pantry, but then we closed the door and it seemed like there weren't really any more kids anyway.
