Regardless of who you voted for, last night was a monumental night in American history. I wasn't feeling so well, so I watched history unfold at home with a beer, although in any other capacity I would've attended PartySugar and LibertySugar's election night bash.
How did you ring in the election? Did you tune in at a sports bar, or throw your own party? What was your election night drink of choice?

Rather sadly, I was working. I did ride home on the loudest bus ever, though.
With 2 friends in their living room drinking beer and eating mac and cheese.
At home with my family and fiancee sitting at the bay window table watching the news. Veggie chorizo con huevos y papas, fruit punch and left over candy corn went flying as we celebrated
Standing in Grant Park, witnessing history!
With a celebratory bottle of Bordeaux!
with my mom and husband at my house, with veggie chili, cornbread and wine!
I was drinking beer at my party!
I had a blinding headache but went with DH to a party. The party was at a local pizza place with really good food and excellent fresh-brewed iced tea, both of which helped the headache a little, but the noise level didn't so my sweetheart and I went home.
My bf and I had a mini party, we ordered pizza then opened a nice bottle of port to celebrate when the time came.
At a local bar's election party
At the Philadelphia Weekly Election Party! Great Night!!!
With co-workers, eating "All- Kale the chief" (mashed potatoes and kale), "Joe the Plumber leeks" (leek casserole), "Barack-oli" (roasted garlic and broccoli), and copious amounts of alcohol of course.
We went to a neighbor's house for an election party. We had pizza, wine and an awesome time!
Shouting at my boyfriend to come out of the bathroom in between peals of laughter!
Gorging on reject halloween candy with friends in front of the T.V. No real party here.
I curled up in my comfy chair with a bottle of wine.
My fiance and I had a nice dinner and toasted to our new president with sparkling wine!
After careful consideration, I should not have had that third G&T.
At a bar filled to overflow with young adults. It was so nice to see so many people that are interested in their future!
I played my computer game! LOL - knew the outcome, didn't wanna see it.
Fiestamom, as an older reader, I too was impressed with the number of young adults that showed their support by voting yesterday.
drinking Old Style at the Essex Inn, and then partying in Grant Park!
In Grant Park with my boyfriend.... we both cried once we saw those words hit the giant screen... "Barack Obama Elected President"
We drank, had friends over, and went out. My head still hurts!
Went over to a co-worker's parents house to watch the returns with like-minded people. We had red-white-and-blue burgers, red-white-and-blue potato salad and ex-Bush's Baked Beans. We also had all-American apple pie, which was carried into the TV room with sparklers for me (my birthday yesterday) after Obama was announced. It was WONDERFUL to be there, with those people. We had the Daily Show on, and I am so happy I was watching Jon Stewart at 8:01 pm CA time, and then they called it. We were all speechless. After a few minutes we thought about stepping outside, but realized we didn't have any noisemakers. Oops!
The bf and I cracked open some champagne, watched CNN and had some fun!
I was home sick, but I had hot cocoa and Baileys and my friend called me from the bar they were celebrating at. Still sad I wasn't there, but it was SUCH an exciting night
At home with take-out and Obamaretto Sours.
My husband grilled rib-eyes and we also had some asparagus and mexican rice. We drank a bottle of Spanish wine to celebrate too.
Just my roommate and me, drinking champagne and eating pineapple upside-down cake.
Sadly work has sent me to a super McCain town right now. On election night I went swimming at the local pool, came back to my temporary "home" and had chips, salsa, and beer during the concession and acceptance speeches with some co-workers.
I will party my a$$ off on inauguration day though... that is also my 1st wedding anniversary. There will be lots of champagne!
My neighbors threw an impromptu election party
I brought over a couple of hard apple ciders and sat there knitting
We spent the night being pissed. And worrying about America's future...
