May 9 2007 - 5:57am Yesterday I told
FitSugar that she was crazy for drinking hot tea on such a hot day. That prompted some people in the office to say that they prefer hot water over cold water. My mom is one of those people, she thinks cold water is terrible.

i like room temperature. Not hot or cold, but just right!
Just plain hot water? Eughh. If I'm going to be drinking hot water, it better have a tea bag in it!
I drink both. I prefer cold but seriously, when I was backpacking through Central and South America I was warned by locals NOT to drink cold water when I was overheated. Apparently, the locals sip on warm to hot water all day as it is easier on a seriously overheated body to digest. I tried it for one day and was HOOKED! One also told me it helped to "sweat the heat out from inside you..." not sure if that is true, but it did make a huge difference for me!
Hot water with lemon...ROCKS!
Room temperature is best too me.
I can hardly stand it at room temperature - I agree with Yum, so much more refreshing when its cold! Especially after a workout...
Hot water tastes terrible to mefor some reason, unless there is tea, or even just honey and lemon, involved.
Room Temperature! But I prefer ice cold water.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
Depends on the season honestly. I drink hot water in the winter and in summer, cold water. I always drink hot tea though.
Room temperature for me. Unless it's 100 degrees in the room, in which case I will settle for cool.
If I'm cold and want to warm up, then I'll drink tea. But whenever I'm drinking water just for the sake of drinking water, like with dinner, it has to be ice cold. Minimum 4 or 5 ice cubes in the glass.
Definitely cold! Quenches me!
*I reject your reality and substitute my own*
It depends; if I need something refreshing, I like it ice cold. In the evenings, when I'm relaxing but don't want anything sugary or flavored, I might drink it hot. I don't enjoy drinking it at room temperature but I've gotten used to it since I keep filling up a water bottle from my office's filtered fridge.
I like my water room temp. Unless its really hot out and then I go for cold, but no ice!
Usually it depends on how hot it is outside, but I'll drink everything I can get my hands on! I love water. I never leave a bottle nonempty and refill them a few times so I don't waste the bottle. I'm all into water!
why on earth would u drink plain hot water???
I drink my water cold. Having said that, I have been known to drink a cup of hot water from time to time when there is no tea available and i'm eating something sweet.
I love it cold but room temp is better for hydrating your body!
room tempurature unless it's a really hot day then i like it cold....
Cold, but my coworker puts hers in the microwave. Yuck!
I'm with all of you who mentioned room temperature. I am constantly drinking water (and running to the bathroom) and really cold water makes me feel cold.
I know warm water is better for you when you workout, but it feels sooooo much better to drink cold water.
Room Temperature is best for me. I seem to get a tummy ache when I drink water that is ice cold.
I like room temp water as well.
Depends. Cold when Im hot, room temp otherwise.
room temp
Room temp all the way!
Style Before Comfort!
I drink whatever temp water is available, but even in Arizona summers I would order my tea and lattes hot. The warmth is comforting.
ice cold or boiling hot. If I can't finish it when it reaches room temperature, I need a new cup.
Room temperature.
Room temperature! I don't like cold water...HATE ice in it. I like hot water too cause I drink tons of tea....
Ice cold or not at all.
i dont like water out of the fridge, or with ice, i like it room temp!
both....all day long.
I heard to cool down pick room temp'd water not cold , as the body has to work to alter it to warm it up before using it. But I still will tend to drink both hot and cold depending on my mood
Cold or cool.
My mom puts so much ice in her water it looks like an iceberg!
"When you're being run out of town, get in front and make it look like a parade"
Both, but usually room temp
i like it a little colder than room temp. i'll leave a few bottles out when i get to work and drink on those after a while. it's easier to drink and you'll drink more...i think. same with when i work out...i feel like it tenses me up.
I drink it coldish, but not ice cold. When I have my period, I only drink hot water - better for cramps!
cold!!
Room temp! I'm glad other people have been answering that way too - people are always thinking I'm strange for not drinking cold water. But I can't stand it! Especially if there's ice in it. Just awful!
Cold water if I can. Warm water is ok but no hot water!
I prefer cold water, but after visiting with an acupuncturist I've switched to room temperature or warm water. Apparently it's better for you if you have asthma and it's easier for your body to digest.
i can drink room temperature water faster than cold water but cold water is really good when it is hot
i mean when it's hot outside
i only drink room temperature water because apparenty cold water is bad for your kidneys... and is you let your water get hot in the car... the plastics in the water bottle will get into your water and eventually cause breast cancer... so i drink room temperature water...smart...
There are NO benefits to drinking hot water. Get real. Regardless of the temperature of ANY liquid before you drink it, as soon as you do drink it, it becomes 98.6 degrees. Thus drinking plain hot water is just another old wives' tale.
