I am a classic with a twist! Use Sour Cream too!!

This year I am making the ones Martha made with Snoop Dogg. The whipped cream cheese mashed potatoes.

I make mashed potatoes with part heavy cream part milk, butter, and chopped up leeks. I also leave the skins on the potatoes.

Party, those mashed potatoes *did* look really yummy, and that segment was too funny!

Garlic chive mashed this year!

With 2 kinds of sweet potatoes a holiday must in our family we don't do mashed potatoes....

We're having traditional mashed, sweet mashed and scalloped potatoes. Plus potato salad. Dang, that's a lot of taters! ROTFL

Making "Mock Potatoes" using cauliflower and garlic!

Maybe on Saturday when we are at his fams.

We have a winter CSA vegetable share and I am going root vegetable crazy tomorrow.

I still have to plan my menu. I have a lot to choose from with all the squash, roots, winter kale, and other goodies at my disposal.

We make ours with sour cream and a nice table spoon of cream cheese. Mmmm!

Classic. But only because we had garlic mashed potatoes the other night. (We LOVE potatoes. Mashed, baked, boiled, stewed, latke-fied. french fried. mmm.)

Cheesy all the way. Use a mixture of cream cheese and normal cheese

Shredded parmesan and garlic cream. The best of both worlds - neither was overpowering, but they just leant a great savory note to the whole thing.

I like traditional mashed potatoes. I use to leave the skins on, but my kids don't like it.

That looks like roux in the picture, not potatoes. They're kind of brown.

I'm making pureed cauliflower instead- we'll see who notices

We're have nice fresh SF bay crabs, so no mashed taters but that's okay we eat entirely too many potatoes already.

A mixture of yukon gold and sweet potatoes mashed. I've never made it before, so I hope it's as delicious as it sounds!

Mm that yukon gold and sweet potatoes together sounds soo good!! All this talk about potatoes has me hungry...it's my familys' favorite sidedish so we are having reg. mashed, sweet potato mashed, cheesy mashed, and of course sweet potato with marshmallows

We don't actually have mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. With stuffing, sweet potatoes and all the other veggies, it would just be too heavy.

We made ours with butter, canned milk, regular milk, salt, and pepper...yummy!
