just barbecue sauce, or just steak sauce (preferably A-1). I love me some french fries, but I'm not big on condiments.

Aioli if I can be bothered making it (or it's available), but if not, then either some mayo or just salt and malt vinegar.

It depends on where I am and the quality of the fries. Here in the States, generally ketchup. Upscale restaurant, aioli, if they make it themselves.

But in England, where I went to school for two years, the best thing in the whole wide world was a polystyrene box of chips covered with cheese, garlic mayonnaise, bbq sauce, and chili sauce. One of my friends ridiculed me for months before trying it himself and he was hooked. Make sure to close the box so that the cheese melts a bit. Feeling a bit decadent? Add döner kebab meat for about £1 more. I was even well known enough to become a regular at my local kebab van - I'd show up and Steve would just start making my food.

Mustard! Dijon is my pick of choice, but I'll go with any kind in a pinch. I love the combination of the salt from the fries and the vinegar of the mustard, such an amazing flavor combo! Not for everyone though, it's definitely a bit of an acquired taste.

    ketchup or, on occasion, cheese.
    on even fewer occasions, gravy.
and once every few years, cheese AND gravy.

Ketchup if I'm out somewhere and they aren't spiced well. Otherwise, plain... or with salt and pepper if I make them at home.

Usually I prefer fry sauce. Ketchup and mayo mixed together basically.

Aioli is also pretty awesome. If the restaurant uses it on anything, then I'll sometimes ask for a little cup of it.

I was one of those obnoxious "I don't eat fries" people but would like to qualify the vote and explain that it isn't for health or diet purposes - I just have never liked them for some unknown reason. Weird, I know.

Aioli absolutely, but i can also do the ketchup&mayo thing as well as ranch dressing, malt vinegar, or dijon mustard.

I just love french fries in general so it doesn't really matter what's on them.

PS - The picture above is fantastic Drool

I love malt vinegar on my fries and I like thousand island (think fry sauce with relish). I also like Heinz 57 but that has enough vinegar so none on the fries. If they are curly fries, I like Ranch.

Ketchup, vinegar and/or salt. I love the salty/sour combo. Occasionally I dip it in chocolate milk shake- don't knock it 'til you try it!

I eat with either bbq, mayo+tabasco mixed in, or salt and vinegar depending on how thick the fries are.

Ketchup/mayonnaise mixed or ranch dressing. It depends on my mood. LOL

And for those of you that like the Ketchup/Mayo thing, there's now a product on the market called "Some Dudes Fry Sauce".
