i'll swallow my gum if i forgot to get rid of it before sitting down at a restaurant. i'd rather not noticeably handle it in front of my fellow diners, and i don't always feel like excusing myself to do it in the restroom.

the only time i swallow it is when i forget i have it in my mouth before some sort of public speaking event or other type of performance. otherwise, never.

No, I don't swallow my gum. Actually, I do the same thing as PartySugar...make sure I have a small piece of paper to discretely spit it into so, I can throw it away. Or, I just go to the restroom and take it out there. My hubby swallows his gum all the time.

Only if I'm somewhere without a garbage can or something to put it in until I find one. I'd rather not throw it on the ground as I know how upset I get when I step in other people's gum

I can't even swallow pills sometimes! So definitely no on the gum.

Some gum is just to good to not swallow, like watermelon bubblicious. For some reason that gum is just too good to keep chewing. I don't buy it anymore for that reason.

one time when I was a kid I didn't have anywhere to put my gum and was afraid to swallow it, so I just kept chewing it. It eventually disintegrated in my mouth - which tasted horribly disgusting.

i used to swallow my gum when i was a kid because i thought it was cool! haha..but i don't do it anymore unless i swallow it by accident

I never swallow my gum (because I always believed that myth - silly me!) and I don't let my friends swallow their's either!

I rarely do, but my boyfriend does. I had him swallow mine once to and I think since then, he's stopped!

As strong as stomach acid is, there is no way it will make it past your stomach intact. I always swallow my gum. I hate finding wads of it everywhere....trash, grass, sidewalk. yada yada....it is just so much easier to swallow it.

And I have also chewed it until it disentergrates, or loses elasticity. It takes a long while, but as far as I know, it has to do with the rubber breaking down, or something. It happens to all gum, I think...after hours and hours.

I always swallow mine- every piece. I've never been able to figure out why people thought it is gross or weird. I think its much worse to throw it away- spit it out, find something to wrap it in, and then find a trash can. Too complicated.

I rarely chew gum but when i do i keep the wrapper and when i'm done with it i put it in the paper and throw it out.
