Learn How to Make Perfect Pie Crust!
Top with a wash.
Topping your crust with different washes will produce different results.
For the slightest roasted color, try water.
Eggs, when used alone or with cream, will add shine and enhance color.
Cream, when used alone, will lighten the color of the crust.
For an added touch, top any wash with coarse sugar.

Thanks. These are great tips. I have made great pie crust in the past, but for some reason, my crusts this year didn't turn out right, and I had to send my husband to the store to buy ready made dough for thanksgiving. This is a great refresher, and new info for me about storing it still pretty lumpy. I also never thought to freeze my bowl and cutters.. makes perfect sense.
