Earlier this year, Pizza Hut played a trick on the country by claiming it had changed its name to Pasta Hut. Although the name change turned out to be an advertising prank, the pizza delivery chain did roll out a new line of Tuscani Pastas ($12.99). After trying out Domino's new line of subs, I decided that to be fair, I'd give Pizza Hut's pastas a try, too. To find out how the chain's new offerings tasted, read more.
Much like we felt Domino's subs tasted like pizza, PartySugar and I thought Pizza Hut's pastas actually looked like pizza. I did a double take on the Meaty Marinara, as it looked like a standard cheese pizza!
Meaty Marinara: This pasta arrived with slightly burnt edges, and was the least appetizing to look at. Thank goodness its name includes the word "meat," since the dish actually looks like it's vegetarian: The pasta, marinara, and meat are on underneath a thick layer of melted mozzarella. The sauce tasted more like pizza sauce than pasta sauce, but this option, with its tomato base, seemed the healthiest of the three.
Creamy Chicken Alfredo: Although the chicken strips were tender and meaty, this was my least favorite of the pastas. The congealed Alfredo sauce was representative of why I usually hesitate to order Alfredo.
Premium Bacon Mac 'N Cheese: This was the best of the pastas, with its smooth, creamy Velveeta-like texture and crisp and meaty bits of smoky bacon.
Beware that these pastas are certainly not light. After tasting a sample of each, I felt satisfied for hours. Later, I had a few more bites of each, and I felt thirsty, bloated, and a little sick. However, if you're already inclined to order delivery from Pizza Hut, there's no harm in ordering a pasta instead — my vote goes to the Premium Bacon Mac 'N Cheese (2 a.m. after a night on the town, anyone?). Have you been tried out Pizza Hut's pastas? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I was hesitant to try these--thanks for the review!
1When a pizza place makes something other than pizza's, they're going to use the pizza sauce if they can.
2I am certainly going to stay away from these.
3I havent tried them, and I hate their pizza (worked there for 4 years in high school, cant eat it) but I must say that everytime I see that Bacon Mac N Cheese on the commercial, I NEED it.
4The bacon mac and cheese does look good.
5The idea of the bacon mac and cheese is just gross.
6I've tried the chicken alfredo but not the others. My husband and I like it but I think almost anyone can make better pasta at home.
7I've never been curious about these.
Probably because the nearest Pizza Hut is about twenty minutes away by car, while I can literally WALK to five italian resturants/pizzerias.
The bacon mac-and-cheese looks tempting, but I could probably make the same thing at home (which would save me the drive).
8I liked the chicken alfredo pasta. Mine wasn't congealed at all.
9It's not so much the taste that ticked me off, but the fact that a (very) small container of their pasta is almost 7 dollars. I had the mac and cheese, and you were spot on with the velveeta reference, I could have done this better...and cheaper I might add. As always Pizza Hut is overpriced for the food they have. The pastas weren't terrible, but for the price, you could get something from a real Italian place that would blow these out of the water, or just order from Olive Garden, at least they'll throw in a salad and breadsticks...lol
10They look so good on the commercial. I think I'll take your "thirsty, bloated and a little sick" review as a reason to avoid them though.
11Yuck. I'm not a mac and cheese person anyway, and I'm pretty sure most of these entrees have a buttload of calories in them. I'll pass, thanks.
12I've tried the chicken alfredo... it wasn't bad. Granted, I can certainly make better, but if I was in a pinch and having a few people over it would certainly do.
13never liked their pizzas and will certainly not have their pastas. if i want pasta then i'm going to go to an Italian place. Fillippi's, Goombahs, heck even Olive Garden. . .
14Still not going to happen.
15No thanks... I won't be trying these anytime soon.
16Eww. That's NOT what they look like on the commercial. My fave is the commercial where "New Yorkers" were fooled at the Italian restaurant thinking the Pizza Hut pasta was from a famous restaurant. They must've been from upstate.
17There is way too much sodium in these pastas. I tried it once and an hour later my ears were ringing from the blood pressure.
18Never again.
To be honest, they just look like macaroni and cheese. If someone brought them over to my place for dinner, I would try it, but I wouldn't buy them on my own.
19We've ordered them for lunch at work before, and I think they're actually pretty tasty. I liked the marinara one the best (it does kind of look like a pizza at first), and the mac and cheese was really good too. The thing about it is that the pasta is so heavy, you really can only have a little bit. Maybe that's a good thing though because they are clearly not the healthiest food around.
20I thought the pasta was WAY overcooked (too mushy!)when I had it and would never order it for myself simply because I could make much better pasta at home for about 1/8 of the cost.
21I bet they would be great.......after a little reefer madness!
22I'm with Yum... the only one I liked was the bacon mac and cheese. We brought this in for work and the other two are all but inedible in my opinion. I had better food in the Navy.
23Blech, none for me, thanks.
24I tried the bacon mac and cheese. It was just OK.
25I've tried the chicken alfredo dish a few times, and I like it. I only get that "bloated, and a little sick" feeling after eating too much, because the food isn't light. The marinara pasta has almost no meat in it, so I think it's basically a rip-off. But I really want to try the macaroni and cheese...I don't mind fatty foods at all, if you didn't notice.
26How bout I just add some crumbled bacon to some Velveeta shells and cheese and call it good for 3-4$ ???
27I don't like Pizza Hut at all. The mac and cheese sounds good, but I'll use my Velveeta and crumble some bacon in there.
28None of them sound particularly appetizing to me, just because they're coming from Pizza Hut. It'd probably be simple enough to make your own versions at home that would be a lot tastier and far less fatty.

Bacon Mac and Cheese- 1/4 order. 520 calories, 200 from Fat 24 grams total fat, 1 trans, 80 g Cholesterol, 1170 sodium, 54 carbs.
Disgusting.
31I never liked Pizza hut..plus the one near my house (or maybe everyones?) was so dirty. They finally closed it. but I"d be REALLY very hesitant about ever buying some sort of pasta from there....
and honestly the photos don't make it look very appetizing.. at least not to me.
32I enjoyed the chicken alfredo. It needed more pepper for me, but I had a little with a salad.
I wanted to try the mac & cheese, but I'm not a fan of bacon!
33I actually kinda liked the Chicken Alfredo. It was pretty much what I expected. I would order this on "lazy night" though.
34We tried the chicken alfredo pasta over the weekend and it was surprisingly yummy. It gave me a food koma after, but it wasn't that bad for taste.
35I've been wondering about this and will eventually try it though I have my doubts. As for the Bacon n Cheese pasta - duh. Put bacon in anything and it'll taste good.
One of my issues is the disingenuous advertising they do when they show a trick a bunch of people in a fine restaurant that they're eating Pizza Hut pasta. The thing that's disingenuous is the psychology trick that people will automatically think that something is better due to the setting, packaging, or simply the price. They did this with the same wine but in two different bottles - people were told one was more expensive than the other and asked which tasted better? Guess which won?
36ordered it and I'm waiting ooh I'm all a twitter
