I tend to trust the recipes from FoodTV more. I would guess that recipes from celeb chefs probably undergo a review process before they make it to TV or to the FoodTV website.

I also really like Epicurious.

I've made quite a few recipes from AllRecipes that just didn't turn out. I think people put up their own recipes, and then forget to edit them to include all the little tricks or changes that they're accustomed to doing while making the recipe.

yay - my vote mattered! anyway, i've always gone to food network's site since there is always a variety of recipes for the dish that i'm looking to make, ranging from easy to expert. that's something that you don't always get, and although i CAN cook well, i don't always know how to make things that are too complicated, and i get frustrated easily when the recipe is too hard.

I'm always wary of recipe sites where users can upload their own recipes, because I've encountered more than a few (especially in baking) that have mistakes (either in measurements or techniques).

That said, I do really enjoy opensourcefood.org, because they have so many recipes to choose from, and I like that the site divides them into "East", "West", "Sweet", "Savoury", etc. Not to mention that most of entries have awesome photos of the finished item.

I'm not crazy about food network's recipe site, not due to its organization, or inaccurate recipes (because they're all checked, i would think), but because when I want to make something homemade, I don't want all the recipes that come up the be Rachael Ray's, suggesting I use a bunch of store-bought, pre-made items. Kind of defeats the purpose, y'know?

pass, I'll find healthier recipes. Paula Dean's obsession with butter is just scary.

While I browse FoodNetwork.com, it's not my fave. Eatingwell.com is mine.

Forgot to answer the question though. I usually browse as a secondary source if I can't find what I'm looking for.

I can always count on recipes from Tyler or Bobby as being great. I also like Alton's sometimes.

I like Food Network because they test all the recipes and they rate them "easy" to "hard", so you know what you're getting yourself into before you start. Allrecipes has a lot of recipes, but I often find myself sifting through a bunch of crappy ones to find a good one. One nice thing about Allrecipes is that they have a spot for recipe reviews so you can see how other people thought the recipe worked.
