For the past 10 days, YumSugar and I have been going all-out with the edible gifts. We've made everything from classic treats like peppermint bark and peanut brittle to savory delights like spicy cashews and chicken liver pate. We've got two more days left in the series, and I want to know, have we inspired you? Will you be making and giving edible gifts this year?

I made chocolate covered pretzel rods and peppermint bark!
not for gifts, but I'm going to a holiday potluck with a bunch of my friends this weekend, and I'm making a red lentil salad for the vegetarians in the group -- eating lentils at/around New Years is good luck in Italian traditions
I treated my office to homemade sugar cookies and double chocolate cookies yesterday :]... they gobbled them up in no time!
Peppermint bark (today) and a big mess of beef jerky for the guys (husband/sons/brother).
I am making cheesecake brownies for my dessert fan, sweet & hot mustard for my heat freak, and a big batch of chicken soup with lots of veggies for one of my coworkers that has a soup obsession!
Yes, My boyfriend and myself made some treats for a bunch of friends. I mostly made those trios that were posted 2 or so weeks ago, and my bf made buckeye balls. We bought some small Christmasy hat boxes and arranged them inside in layers with tissue paper. Everyone loved them and it really felt great to make something that they all enjoyed.
I sure am!
I make like 15 different cookies every year and bring them to holiday functions (liek my bf's xmas dinners), work and sometimes give them to my friends and their families
Who doesn't love a big platter full of delcious cookies!?
I am making choc-oat-chip cookies for my granma!
Fig infused vodka!
I am making Raspberry Pinwheel cookies for my grandma-in-law using a recipe I found in Real Simple magazine. I hope it is simple!
first, I want some fig infused vodka mydiadem!!! sounds amazing!!! I spent all of yesterday making spiced candied nuts. Does anyone have a non-time consuming recipe? it took me hours to dip all of the nuts in an egg white wash and then the spice mixture, I was making five pounds of nuts though.
Gingerbread madelines, pesto, and squash chips.
I just finished making shortbread and baking tons of cupcakes for an after Christmas party.
I made chocolate/p.b fudge for a potluck
and then I made this pretzel peanut bark.
YUM!
yes but I haven't completely decided as to what.
cooooookies!
Freakshow - what are buckeye balls?
I was going to make berry jam, but never found any jars, maybe next year!
I've made Christmas chocolate and peanut butter and chocolate swirl today. I'm also going to make rocky road squares.
making the hot cocoa fo sho-o
I made chocolate truffles -- yum!
I'm making chocolate covered pretzels for my coworkers.
Eggnog! After my grandma's recipe! I've already given away a few bottles and people loved it!
Why yes, I am making edible gifts this year. One of them includes the peppermint bark you posted, which by the way thank you for posting!
I made a batch of the vanilla hot chocolate that was posted on here (with homemade marshmallows) and am giving them to my co-workers. I also made 4 batches of cookies, brownies in a jar, and rosemary infused olive oil.
Thanks for the great 12 days! I'm saving all of these for next year as well!!!

Every year, I make a bunch of English toffee with almonds to bring to work for my coworkers and I bring it to my family to share with them. It's always a big hit and it's SUPER easy to make.
I'm making granola bars for my boyfriend (he's always hungry at work and never buys himself anything to eat).
I love baking but my mum has so many things on our counter tops I have no room to lay baking sheets when I prep.
i made sugar cookies w/icing of course, mexican wedding cookies, truffles rolled in crushed candy canes and pecan pralines! all in the past three days. made a big tray of green enchiladas for my husband's potluck at work yesterday and tomorrow, a tray of baked ziti (ok, wagon wheels) w/meatballs for my 7 yr old son's cclass luncheon! i'm pooped!
I made dark chocolate dark w/pecan,cranberries and candied ginger for my co-workers.
"Bark"
I've made chocolate peanutbutter fudge rice krispy treats. Also will be making regular fudge.
I will make brownies or mini muffin loafs. I have the treat bags already.
My husband and I made quarts and quarts of garden sauce this summer using produce from our garden (tomatoes, onions, carrots, peppers, etc.) and grew organic popcorn, and made homemade vanilla flavoring using finnlover's recipe. These will go in boxes to mail to our relatives. Made peppermint bark, peanut brittle, and chocolate-covered bacon for a sweet-loving friend. Just finished baking dozens of gingerbread stars and honey cookies this week to give to local friends. I think I'm done for now! LOL
Now I get to plan next year's goodies for the baskets and bags...I have collected too many
recipes from here to make them all this year!
I love all the edible gift ideas!
i wish i had the time to but i don't think that i will. given that it's almost 8pm and i'm still at work, and i should have left like 2.5 hours ago.....
I'm thinking about making my famous cupcakes, but they take soo long! Maybe..
I'm asked to make Chocolate Chip Cookies for pretty much every occasion, so I'm making those again this year. I'll also be making oatmeal cookies and Pumpkin-Cranberry Cookies. If I have time, I want to try making the homemade Pomegranate Jelly and homemade grenadine. Does anyone have any good ideas for storage containers for these two? I'm not keen on the idea of going out and buying glass containers of some sort, but I can't think of anything else to store them in that would look good. D:
I made packages of 4 kinds of cookies, hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, and rosemary salt for friends and family. Plus bath salts, but they aren't exactly edible. It was fun, but it was a heck of a lot of work!
Yes, I made 3 things this year. Maple Sugar Pecans, Limoncello, and Texas pickles.
I'm not making one b/c I wouldn't want to receive one. I would maybe consider giving kahlua or another drink as a gift.
I'll be making sugar cookies and some chocolate truffles to give away
Yes. I'm in the process. Old fashioned peanut brittle, gingerbread caramels, peanut butter blossoms, 3 different truffles (chocolate, peanut butter, Bailey's chocolate), fudge, chocolate covered gingerbread men, Candy Cane swirl brownies. I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment, cuz they should all be in the mail by tomorrow. I'll send the ones to my bf's family to make sure they are there on time, but the rest, I have come to terms with them being a day or two late.
Some Christmas cookies for my co-workers, but that's it...
I've made my parents two Irish christmas puddings. They taste delicious!
I'll make Heath Toffee chocolate chip cookies, Sable cookies and decadent triple dipped pretzel rods (some with caramel, chocolate or marshmallow fluff)
I made 2 pecan pies vanilla macarons with nutella filling, pffernusse, graham crackers, marshmallows, peppermint bark and fleur de sel caramels
I made gingerbread men, almond sugar cookies and my favorite, chocolate cracker cookies. I brought them to work and gave some containers to my boss and a few coworkers.
I made peppermint bark yesterday and it was yummy!!!!!
My family are big fans- it's nearly all gone!
I love the idea of edible gifts, but unfortunately, I think edible gifts are too casual for Christmas. I think it's okay for casual acquaintances or casual gifts during non-holiday times. Nonetheless, I love the feeling of making something at home and packaging them nicely. It's a nice feeling.
I made chocolate covered-meringues, chocolate covered pretzels, and marshmallows (vanilla, peppermint, and pumpkin spice flavored)! All were a hit!
