I think they are an adorable, quirky table setting. They would fit right in at my not at all stuffy Christmas Eve supper!

I would probably just use the 3 for a dollar red mini stockings sold at the market. Same idea but less expensive. These do have whimsical charm, though.

5I voted hate it not because they are too close to socks for the table, rather because I feel like they would clutter up the table. If they multitasked as napkins, then sure, but not otherwise.
