Earlier we asked your thoughts on the Best of 2008, and that included your favorite grocery store of the year. Although prices went through the roof on everything from beef to dairy, you chose Trader Joe's as your number-one pick. For the second year in a row, it was the clear winner, taking 39 percent of the vote. We must be on the same wavelength because Trader Joe's is Yum's supermarket fave, too.
We love TJ's because it offers a variety of unique, all-natural food choices without breaking the bank. It's got a frozen-food selection, cheese offering, and wine section. We wish every grocer could offer the same value for the quality. In fact, we love the store so much that we experimented with a cookbook that exclusively calls for items from Trader Joe's. What are your reasons for preferring TJ's?
Ralph Lauren
Butterfly
Shiseido
i just wish that there were more TJ's around since i can't say that i've ever seen one or visited one. i want to know what everyone's talking about!
1I have one near me but I've never been. The Health Foods Unlimited is right next door to where I work so I usually go there.
2We don't have Trader Joe's, but we have Earth Fare and it's a lot bigger than TJ. So Earth Fare, FTW!
3I would like to have the whole 'TJ' experience *snickers* but
4we don't have one. And I LOVE Earth Fare! that's like Disneyworld for me
I'll stick with Aldi's because I like it too AND that's all we have here. lol
love it!!
5TJs is awesome!
6Oh, yeah, I do the bulk of my shopping at TJ's, great quality food and so much cheaper than any other grocery store.
7"What are your reasons for preferring TJ's?"
Their bagged arugula and dried fruit. Great quality and price point.
8I grew up lucky since I grew up in SoCal and there were always Trader Joes around. As an adult I have not had it so lucky. I am now in Colorado and the closest one is in St. Louis. I take advantage when I travel with extra room in suitcases. I did get lucky two months ago with a road trip to Vegas. My honey and I racked up about a $400 bill and loaded the car with staples, vitamins, and wine.

10Hell yes, TJ's is the best! Great food and booze selection for really awesome prices--you can't beat that. I've been loving their beef and lamb roasts lately.
11We don't have a TJ's around here. I'm going with Aldi because it's cheap, the food is very high-quality, and it's convenient.
12Never been in there. But from what you all are saying it must be great to visit every now and then.
