Piping hot black tea, the stronger the better, with sugar and milk in the cool weather...Strongly brewed black tea with sugar and much ice during the hot months! I also like ginger and/or peppermint tea in the evenings...very soothing and relaxing!
Tea is far too delicious and far too varied in flavor to ever choose one type.
I used to be very down on flavors that distracted from the tea leaves but since I've had Lupicia's almond scented tea, I wouldn't even exclude flavored teas.
Jasmine-scented oolong tea has long been a favorite all-nighter fuel through college, graduate school, and now law school, as well as all-night grading sessions when I taught middle school.
So oolong will always have a special place in my heart (and pantry).
But for calm drinking, I'm a fan of those really astringent black teas. I always oversteep, I resteep, and I can't add anything: no milk, cream, or sugar.
I love mint green tea, but I also love a nice cup of Earl Grey. Actually, there is only one kind of tea that I don't like: chamomile. It has a weird, sweet taste to it that I don't care for.
Black tea -- must have my PG Tips! I used to like things like Jasmine and Earl Grey, but now they seem too perfumey for me, and I prefer black tea with milk. I do like iced mint tea in the
summer though.
ah I don't discriminate against tea, I love them all I just got
myself chamomile tea and then some red tea. and I like coffee too and don't get me started on energy drinks! Depending on my mood I will drink a proper beverage
i love tea. black tea with vanilla and cinnamon is a perennial favourite, but i also have a lovely rooibos chai that i've been drinking lately.
i enjoy green teas on occasion, especially those which contain jasmine.
a tea i HATE however? earl grey. ugh. i could never get behind that one.
Green tea mostly - iced or hot. Celestial Seasonings Green Tea Antioxidant Supplement or Honey Lemon Ginseng. But I do love the occasional black and red teas. I usually drink Sleepy Time
before bed.
Maybe you tea experts can help me. I've always been a very basic tea drinker - black tea with no flavorings. But I'm trying to cut back on caffeine. I can do decaf black tea just fine, but I
think I should introduce green tea to my repertoire, because of its antioxidants. Problem is, it tastes so ... green. What would you recommend for a black tea devotee who's looking for
something with less caffeine and a few more health benefits?
Valacyjane, I would try one of the green tea/herbal mixes, such as Pomegranate Green Tea or Cranberry Green Tea. Most of these have caffeine, so you'll have to look for decaf versions.
Bigelow also makes some of their black teas (i.e. Constant Commet) with green tea now so you are getting more antioxidents than black has on it's own. Maybe the taste won't be so green for
you then?
cahill, you are so right! Barry's Green Blend (AKA Irish Breakfast) is also absolutely terrific as well. Nice strong, mellow flavor. I must go brew up a pot now...this poll is making me crave
a steaming cup...
Green tea. I think the most enjoyable I've ever had is Taylors of Harrogate's jasmine green tea. I used to looove black tea with milk, though. Still do sometimes. All loose leaf, of course
and making sure to never steep green tea too long or with water that's too hot. I'm a tea snob.

This soup ends up being a good source of three blood pressure-lowering minerals since the milk adds calcium and the potatoes deliver a dose of potassium, as well as magnesium.
Iced!
1black iced
2Hibiscus tea (Tazo Passion), Twig Tea (the macrobiotic ones) and Raspberry leaf tea - all served piping hot.
3Piping hot black tea, the stronger the better, with sugar and milk in the cool weather...Strongly brewed black tea with sugar and much ice during the hot months!

4BTW, I am very curious to know...where is the "Crown and Crumpet" located, or is it just "make-believe"?

15I love mint green tea, but I also love a nice cup of Earl Grey. Actually, there is only one kind of tea that I don't like: chamomile. It has a weird, sweet taste to it that I don't care for.
16Black, with milk. It perks me up, minus the excessive jolt from coffee
17Constant Comment is a classic. I also love green jasmine. It smells wonderful and taste sweet.
18Black tea with a healthy dose of bergamot oil, aka Earl Grey.
The one tea on this list that I have tried again and again and still just don't like is Rooibos. Just blech.
19It depends on what mood I'm in...
20Stressed= Kava
Tired= Black
Relaxing= Iced, usually something fruity or white
Cold= Spice, ginger, Orange
Orange pekoe with lemon or nothing and lemon tea. (Or any type of black tea I guess.)
21I said other, as I will drink most of these. I have green, white and black in my drawer at work to fit all my moods.
White is for reflective days, green for a health kick, black when I need a pick-me-up.
My favourite is probably lady or earl grey, hot or iced.
22am - Tazo's Lotus Decaffeinated Green Tea
23afternoon - PG Tips
pm - Stash Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea
And oh my goosh how could I forget jasmine! I love rosebud tea, too. Even if it's a bit of a shame.
24All I drink is tea! Mostly Green and Black.
25Black tea -- must have my PG Tips! I used to like things like Jasmine and Earl Grey, but now they seem too perfumey for me, and I prefer black tea with milk. I do like iced mint tea in the summer though.
