We've got our hands on the menu for Obama's last supper before the big day, and it ain't Southern-style johnnycakes or Hawaiian pizza.
The Hilton Washington Hotel in Washington, DC, one of three venues hosting an official candlelight dinner on the eve of the presidential inauguration, has revealed an elaborate menu. This is the last meal the Obamas will have before they spend the next four years under the discerning palate of Cristeta Comerford, the current White House executive chef. To see the menu, read more.
- New England Lobster Bisque en Croute
- Porcini Dusted Petit Fillet, Port Wine Demi, Complemented with Seared Sundried Tomato Scented Escolar Basil Emulsion
- Sea Salt Roasted Tricolor Fingerling Potatoes
- Winter Baby Vegetables
- Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream
What do you think of the menu? Does it sound like something that the president-elect would enjoy as a last meal before being sworn in as the nation's leader?

I think the lobster bisque would excite me the most. The rest sounds fancy, but fairly unexciting.
1It sounds fancy but accessible; that seems like a good way to go. The sticky toffee pudding sounds delicious.
2Mmmmm, even if he doesn't like it, I sure would! In line with the PP's, the lobster bisque and sticky toffee pudding are what I've got my eyes on.
3yummm, sticky toffee pudding!! I need to make that one of these days. And the bisque sounds good too. Actually it all sounds good to me...
4It sounds good without being too pretentious, the way some of the food for the Golden Globes was - I couldn't even pronounce some of those words, but I have a general idea of what all of this means, and it sounds good!
5Sounds delicious! I love meals like this...a gourmet version of some good comfort food...a creamy warm soup, a nice steak, roasted potatoes, hearty veggies & warm pudding w/ ice cream. I think it's a perfect menu to help him just relax & enjoy a nice meal before the chaos begins! I have never tried it, but I am sure I would LOVE warm sticky toffee pudding...yum!!
6What about the wine list????
7yummy pre-presidential last desserts eh
8well it all just sounds lovely there doesn't it? i think that for myself - it would be a challenge for the chef since i'm not a meat/fish/chicken eater, and they would have to come up with dishes that sound just as mouth watering as these but sans the meat!
9Is there an extra seat/plate for me?
10Ugh, this is a cliche hotel menu. I would know, I work in one
11With the exception of the sticky toffee pudding
this menu sounds a bit fussy and almost
boring to me. It probably tasted good but no thanks.
12It sounds great. Nice variety of dishes.
