Tonight is the series premiere of Chopped, Food Network's new culinary competition series hosted by Ted Allen. The show, which airs on 10 p.m./9 p.m. (CST), bears a striking resemblance to Bravo's hit series, Top Chef. Will you tune in?

Have to watch it first to see how it is. I will give it a chance.
1Eh. The Next Food Network Star was so bad, is this more of the same? Because if they're trying to compete with Top Chef, it's not going to cut it for me.
2Doubt it...
3I'll watch the first episode to see if I like it...if it's better than Next Food Network star, I'll give it a chance.
4I would like to say "my tivo is already set to record it," but I have a funny feeling that was something I meant to do, but forgot. Shoot and I am going to a cocktail competition tonight which means who knows what time I will be home?!
5Yep. I will always watch a show and find out FOR MYSELF if it's good or not. I think it's unfair that everyone is deciding that this is just a half-baked Top Chef copycat before they've even seen it. Maybe they're right, but maybe they're not. I'll find out when it comes out. If it's good, I'll keep watching it, if not, I won't. Simple as that.
Frankly, I don't think Top Chef is ALL THAT anyway. Maybe Chopped will actually be (gasp!) better than TC. Ever think of that? I think I'm in the minority here, though, as everyone always goes on and on about how fab TC is. Whatever, I'll definitely be watching Chopped to see what's what.
6Sure, why not?
7i didn't realize that it was at the same time as a few of my 'regular' programs, so i didn't get to catch it last night for more than a few minutes during commercial breaks. i'm sure that i'll be able to find it somewhere to catch it again..or there's always next week.
8this seems like a knock off of top chef, which i love. so i'm not sure i'll watch this.
also, doesn't ted allen have another KNOCK OFF show coming out...his food/science show seems like a direct knock off of what Alton Brown's show is...on the same network.
i don't get it, are we really out of new ideas?
9Heck no. Not.
10Judge Sanchez is an idiot. He says "I would have liked more salt" If you have ever made any of Emeril's recipes, he uses SO much salt you could skim off the excess and brine pickles. And I am sure Sanchez would say "There is too much salt". Salt is a very personal item. I dont ever expect a chef, of any caliber to put on as much salt as i might like. That i why all restaurants have salt shakers on the tables. His comments are either left in by the producers as a means to show he is an idiot, or he is an idiot.
