For a large dinner party select a specialty cocktail that can be made in advance and in a large batch. This recipe for a white wine sangria gets an Asian twist with the addition of canned lychees and sake. It will pair perfectly with spring rolls and Chinese noodles.
To make it a truly festive celebration stock up on Asian beer (Tsingtao is a nice option) and good sipping sake (I like Sake One's selection). To check out the recipe for the shinsei sangria, read more.

I love lychees
1Love it, but isn't it more Japanese than Chinese?
2Ever tried a lychee martini? Delish.
3Sounds yum!
4Lychees are so good. it took me a while to try them because they looked so scary (like little purplish maces with all those spikes) but so delish!
5I'm not sure how Chinese this drink is (sounds more Japanese) but it would go fab with some good sushi!
6I LOVE lychee! This sounds amazing.
7i had a chinese new years eve party last night and made this cocktail. it was delicious and one glass had all the guests weaving around my apartment!
