Advertising campaigns in which one company slams a competitor are nothing new: There's the coffee war between Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts, and the burger battle of McDonald's versus Burger King. The latest companies to publicly duke it out? Domino's Pizza and Subway.
According to a taste test conducted and promoted by Domino's, consumers prefer their baked sandwiches over Subway's sandwiches by a two-to-one ratio. Subway quickly responded to the claims by sending Domino's a letter telling the pizza chain to stop airing the commercials. Then last week on national television, Domino's president David Brandon burned the letter. Subway has yet to comment on Domino's aggressive advertisement, and a lawsuit is likely.
After tasting Domino's baked sandwiches, I find it hard to believe they could beat out Subway's sandwiches in a blind taste test. I also think the behavior in the video is childish and immature. Burning a letter? It doesn't necessarily make me want to run to the nearest Domino's for a sandwich. Watch the video below and tell me what you think. Whose sandwiches do you prefer?

Figleaves
Missoni

This is really funny to me because A. Who cares, commercials rarely convert people. B. My husband works part time at Dominoes while he finishes school and they trade with the Subway nearby all the time.
1I'm not really bothered by the commercial, and I really like Subway so it's not changing my mind anyway, but at the same time the letter itself is a bit ridiculous. Legally anyway, Domino's really hasn't done anything wrong.
2I'm bothered by the commercial because they seem to think that people are so stupid that they don't understand what a simple 2 to 1 ratio is. If you can't understand that, does flinging dogs into a pool at certain distances really help?
I'll just go eat at Quiznos. Thanks.
3Honestly those domino sandwiches suck - rather they were disappointing but either way I don't really see any harm in the commercial, they were just trying to be tongue in cheek.
4I kept seeing those commercials and yelling at the TV "B*llsh*t" I hope they do get sued.
dominoes pizza sucks.
5I thought it was funny. But it won't make me switch from Subway.
6What a stupid commercial.
7is it just me or does the voice on the domino's commercial sound like heather from rock of love? LOL
8That's a dumb commercial.
I think of dominos as more like junk food, and subway as much healthier. So it makes sense that dominos would taste better if it's all just fat and cheese.
9That was brilliant. I can't say I want their sandwiches any more than I did before but I enjoyed that commercial.
10Im sorry but that commercial was hilarious! childish.. yes but so what?
11As for showing what a 2-1 ratio looks like..its my favorite part.
well that's just what happens when there are lots of competitors in the market. i hope that this nonsense ends because that's not how you get and keep customers. i'm one for product not for promotion (unless it's a money off promotion)
12the commercials are ok...i haven't tried the sandwich and i wouldn't because Domino's isn't a sandwich place, its pizza place..STICK TO PIZZAS PEOPLE! and subway are healthy and tastes yummy at the same time!
13Commercials which purely consist of one brand knocking a specific other brand are pretty much the lamest thing ever.
This really would be a reason for me to not go to Dominoes.
Why would a restaurant try to look like a bunch of douchebags? I don't think this commercial will work out too well for them.

15I think Subway is the blandest sh*t ever and I'm not even going to take the time to try the Domino's brand because I live in Chicago and Domino's shouldn't even exist here.
That said, I do like using dog-jumps as a unit of measurement.
16I can't remember the last time I ate at either, or wanted to.
