A caipirinha (pronounced kai - preen - ya) is the national cocktail of Brazil, made with the national liquor Cachaça. Within the last ten years, caipirinha's popularity has grown tremendously thanks to the International Bartender Association's addition of it to their official cocktail list. Although it's not common in the majority of bars, there are a growing number of establishments where caipirinhas appear on the menu. The ingredients and drink making technique are similar to that of a mojito. To learn how it's made, read more.

I love these I think they are much better than mojitos
If you decide to make these be prepared to spend all night in the kitchen muddling limes for your friends who keep requesting more and more of these fabulous drinks. I prefer a caipiroska, which is the same recipe but with vodka. The best are in Brazil!
Does anyone know if the Cachaca liquor comes in a can? I had some Brazilian friends make me a drink with limes and a liquor that came in a can. I was wondering if they are the same.
where can we get the cachaca?
Hotchickrules you can buy cachaca at this website.
Sounds delicious!
Looks delicious i never had one.
I remember when this drink was mentioned here a while back. Im still waiting for my chance to try one!
Never had one but looks tasty...but not a lot of bars have that drink over here...love to take a sip.
I prefer caipiroska, which has vodka instead. My favourite drink! it´s sour and sweet at the best time. It has to be drunk slowly or it will go straight to your head.
