I love trying new foods, but because I have some food allergies (mainly dairy) I have to be careful. I do agree though that experiencing new foods is one of the best parts of traveling!
I'm with Mollipop--trying new foods when traveling is great. For me, as long as the food has a nice texture or is presented well, i'll try it! (that means after 10 years you can quit trying
to serve me heart, tongue and meaty-things colored with sheep blood, mother-in-law!)
Always! I'm all about sampling local cuisines, checking out farmer's markets and grocery stores (along with purchasing spices and products that are native to that area), and asking for
recipes at restaurants.
Some of the best foods that I love are from the local flare. I always make it a point to try local foods. For example in Jamacia they have "coco bread" which is the tastiest bread I have ever
had. I wish I had some now.
Totally depends on where I am. I try new things if the place looks clean, but if the town is kinda scary, i usually wait to eat until I find something I know.
I know that's kind of crazy, but it's psychological I'm sure.
I absolutely try new foods! When you travel the point is to get away from your everyday life. To me, it seems silly to have the same food you would eat at home.
It's good to be cautious for sure. My best friends step-mom just came back from a vaction in Mexico and is still really sick from a foodborne illness contracted there. She may take months to
fully recover, it's so sad.
Oh Absolutely. Half my reason for traveling is for the food! I can't understand when I am traveling with somebody, and they want to eat at a McDonalds or are afraid to try anything!
I love trying out new dishes, but I'm definitely a bit hesitant sometimes. I definitely agree with a lot of the above though - one of the best things about traveling is trying out different
foods!
I will definitely try different foods wherever I go. I tried Ostrich and Boar in South Africa. The Ostrich tasted like beef and the Boar tasted like barbecued pork. Oh, and I have tried
Alligator, which taste like chicken. I am quite adventurous when it comes to food.

That's the best part of traveling as far as I'm concerned.
1Absolutely! It's definitely one of my favorite parts of traveling, too.
2Ofcourse! Food is a part of that country's culture, so I definitely want to give it a try.
3I think it is pretty much the best part. When I think of places I've gone I first think about the food.
4Yes I have.

8I'll try it if it's healthy!!

10Food is the best part of going to a new place!
11Depends on where I go. I have this irrational fear of being food poisoned, so I tend to be a bit cautious.

14I was really picky as a kid, and now that my tastes have broadened, I look forward to trying new things! If you don't, you miss out!

16If you're traveling, check out this CDC website!

You can enter the country you are traveling to and receive all the updated health information for that area.
17Yes absolutely! That's what makes a trip more exciting.
18Absolutely! You wouldn't go to India to eat McDonalds (even though their McDonalds differs from ours).
19I'm a definite fan of ethnic food! I'm up for new things, as long as it doesn't have meat!
20My husband has a try it first policy. We were vegetarians for years but since our last trip to boston my husband has been eatting fish.
21We try it all!
OMG yessssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
22Where's the genuine part, otherwise?
23Absolutely.
24Thanks for the helpful link, mellie_608.

26That's half of the reason I travel!!
27Ha - I didn't realize that response was almost verbatum to one of the multiple choices
