Holy cow. India's oldest, biggest nationalist Hindu group, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), plans to introduce a new soft drink made from cow urine.
The radical RSS group has long campaigned against beverages such as Coke and Pepsi, foreign imports that it believes to be a corrupt influence and a symbol of Western imperialism. In India, bovine urine is considered medicinal and is, like the cow itself, seen as sacred, particularly at religious festivals. In some traditional rituals, cow urine is consumed to purify those who belong to the lowest rung of the Hindu caste system.
Although the group hasn't confirmed flavors or pricing for the drink, to be known as gau jal, or "cow water" in Sanskrit, the elixir will be mixed with aloe vera, gooseberry, and other herbs that allegedly combat diabetes, cancer, and other diseases. The RSS and its offshoots have been promoting gau jal as a cure-all since as early as 2001, but Om Prakash, the head of the RSS's Cow Protection Department, said the drink will be introduced "very soon, maybe by the end of this year." He added:
Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty, too. It's going to be very healthy. It won't be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins. We're going to give [American soda brands] good competition as our drink is good for mankind. We may also think of exporting it.
How do you feel about this? I think it's disgusting, but at the same time, I've promised myself that I will try anything once. Would you drink cow urine for its purported health benefits?

Let's throw some science at this and then we can talk about me drinking cow urine
1Bovine Dew!
2Or Moo Dew!
3Andrew Zimmern drank cow urine in India on Bizarre Foods and he said it was bitter and sour at the same time...I doubt it'll go over in the mainstream world. I could see it being big for Rush Week at frats though. People might drink it on a bet, but not for the taste of it.
4pee is pee. yuck

:barf:
6It's WASTE!. What?
7HAHAHA...Moo Dew! *LOL* But seriously, there is no way I would drink urine from a cow (or any other species for that matter). I don't care how good it is for you.
8"In some traditional rituals, cow urine is consumed to purify those who belong to the lowest rung of the Hindu caste system."
Talk about untouchable!
9Moo Dew, hehehehe. But as for drinking it, no way.

13EW????? Whatsss?
14...this is one I don't think I could try. I know that soft drinkers were originally sold as a having health giving properties but we know that is a load of rubbish now. I am thinking you'd have to drink an awful lot of that moo dew to have an effect and that doesn't sound real appetizing to me.
15I'd love to meet Andrew from Bizarre Foods. I was born in the Philippines and had eaten a lot of weird stuff. It is so interesting how he can put stuff in his mouth and enjoy them. I love Indian foods, who knows, maybe I'll try the Cow Dew too........Ummmmm well...... I said maybe. Only with Andrew, hehehehehe
