Last week the New York Times announced that iced tea brand Snapple is redesigning its look and formula. The font is more modern, and the new bottle will be slimmer, so it can fit into cup holders. Real sugar will replace the high fructose corn syrup and lower the calorie count by 40 calories. The label will highlight the type of leaves — green and black tea leaves — used to make the drink and points out that it's "all natural."
With fierce competition in the specialty tea industry, Snapple hopes the more contemporary look will increase sales and popularity. The changes are set to hit supermarket shelves over the next few months. Snapple isn't the first brand to update its look to showcase the wholesomeness of ingredients — Heinz ketchup did it last month.
Do you drink Snapple? What do you think of the changes?

I do drink it.. even in the uk when i can get my hands on it.. but i always get a really bad aftertaste in my mouth.. possibly from the high sugar ingredients... im curious to see if the taste will be cleaner with the new formula and if the new bottle will be better.
The old glass bottles always got leaks and sticky when opened
1It seems like more & more companies are skipping HFCS or offering their products without it. Those commercials from the Corn Refiners Association aren't working, I guess. I'm glad Snapple is going this route. I like the Snapple white teas since they're made with sugar and have fewer calories.
2Snapple is one of my few HFCS things I still love and enjoy periodically. I do NOT drink any of the diet versions, and I love the peach iced tea, and the iced tea lemonade. it will be really great to see them move to more healthy ingredients
3I tasted new flavoe over the weekend - kiwi pear, it would have been good if it wasn't low calorie - uuughhh, the after taste. I couldn't even finish drinking it.
4i've been a big fan of the diet line that they have and any changes they make will probably be great. if i can fit the bottle in a cup holder, then i'll be happy in my car
since i'm always afraid that it'll spill...and a new 'recipe' will probably make consumers
happier.
5I don't care if they use HFCS or not. I don't try to avoid it any more than I try to avoid sugar, since they're both fine in moderation. That said, I usually drink the diet version anyway.
6I like their new label! It was time for a change.
7I used to love their Pink Lemonade, but I agree with the other posters about the aftertaste. I prefer Crystal Light Pink Lemonade.
8I don't really distinguish between HFCS and sugar...calorically, they are exactly the same. I don't drink sugared beverages anyway, but I'm sure a lot of people will buy sugar-sweetened Snapple over corn syrup sweetened Snapple because they'll either a) think it's healthier or b) like the taste more. I'm sure they'll charge more for it, too. Cane sugar's more expensive than HFCS.
9Hi,
10The new snapple is no good. It does not taste as good as it did, and the after taste is awful. They ruined it!!!
I have always drank 2 bottles of peach iced tea a day. Now I have to find something else! Hopefully they will pull a new coke thing and bring back the original in a classic form. Verrrry Disapointing
HATE IT! HATE IT! I gave up coke because they changed the formula for snapple. The new snapple formula SUCKS! The only reason that they are doing this is because its cheaper to produce. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA (especially the lemon ice tea), or else you have just lost another customer
11I have tasted the new snapple peach tea also. It is not good. They ruined it big time. I used to love the stuff. Guess those days are gone now. Can't find bottles of it anywhere.
12The first shipments of diet lemon Iced Tea stated that they were "low calorie" instead of zero calorie. They also tasted bad, in my opinion. Now, I noticed, they are back to "zero calories" and they taste much better....Hmmn...a company that listens to its customers...now maybe GM might do the same...
13i hate their new label. its too professional or businesslike or something. the old one was friendlier. also they should have kept the good tasting bad for you ingredients. who cares about calories and unhealthyness. the less healthy, the better.
14This is not a cost saving measure--HFCS costs far less due to its being delivered in concentrated liquid versus dry powder. The new Snapple Peach Tea is awful and has none of the real peaches flavor. The new label looks really great. Maybe as sales dip Snapple can go into the label designing business. I already contacted the company and told them I won't buy their products any longer--unless they bring back the great tasting formula.
15I've been drinking peach Snapple iced tea regularly since 1993. But now with their new formula, I have to find something else. It not only tastes different, but it just doesn't take good, period.
Why can't they make two kinds? The original formula, and then a "Natural" formula for people who don't want the HFCS?
I'm actually saddened that I can't drink their product anymore. I used to drink almost 12 Snapples a week!
16Snapple Lemon Iced Tea was always a treat for me, but now, I can't take more than a few swigs before throwing it away. I will not buy it anymore, and I mourn the loss of an old friend.
17looks like everyone hates it. They dont even sell snapple where I'm from. Its a fail drink.
18my favorite drink since high school and they ruined it,i could care less about the label but the new recipe tastes like dog sh*t smells........thanks for ruining a good thing snapple
