DCStar-I wondered what those little crunch things were in my gruyere. DELISH! I didn't realize that meant it was a really good cheese. Now I don't feel bad paying what I paid for it haha.
I'm an absolute cheese fanatic and don't think I could live without ANY of these cheeses...but my personal favorite is pepper jack...creamy with that kick of spice; too delicious. For a quick
snack, I toss it in a whole wheat tortilla with a spoonful of salsa and microwave for 30 seconds - so easy, so yummy! Ole!
I picked other, but I really want to say all! My family are all cheeseaholics. It's one thing I couldn't cut out of my diet, just cut down on! I can say that I am not a fun of jalepeno jack
though. Yuck.
So many, life would be very sad without cheese! Currently my favorite is Robusto from Whole Foods, just the right amount of tang! But I also like Amish Yogurt cheese when I'm in the mood for
mild! Hmmm cheese!
I love really good sharp cheddar, although I've never been known to say no when my boyfriends relatives from wisconson come to visit and bring all sorts of wonderfull cheesey goodness!
ok Dealist. here's the thing. Its okay to enjoy what you eat. Food is not evil. and ther is a difrerence between processed cheese product and 100% cheese.
I loooooove loooove loooove aged cheeses. DCStar you're right, the crystals are the best. Right now my two fave cheeses are Amsterdam Reserve (an aged gouda) and Humbolt Fog (a super
delicious goat cheese - creamy, no crystals). yum! now i want cheese for breakfast...
I love all cheese -- it would be impossible to part with any. Though I must say, I do appreciate Cheddar's versatility and integral role in Mexican food.
Monterey Jack, mozarella, provolone, all this cheese talk made me hungry for a grilled cheese sandwich! So I made one with monterey jack , it really hit the spot! I love so many cheeses, I'm
from Wisconsin so of course I love me some cheese.
i couldn't live without goat cheese. fancyish nacho plate (easy to make as a snack for just you!) :
- organic blue sesame corn chips
- goat cheese
- craisins
crumble the goat cheese over a layer of chips (make sure the cheese is as cold as you can get it, it gets sticky fast) and throw it into the microwave until the cheese is melty (about 15
seconds on mine)
- sprinkle on craisins and ENJOY!
Where do I start?! Mozzarella, emmental, stracchino, parmesan, brie, camembert to name but a few. Apologies for all the spelling mistakes, I really should be in bed now!
I see Bucheron goat cheese up in that picture, and that's definitely one of my top picks. Also, aged gouda, and there are 2 kinds of Brie from Whole Foods that I only recognize by their
label. I LOVE CHEESE!
Butter
CHEESE
Potato Chips and French Fries
Doughnuts
Salt
Sausage, hot dogs
Pickled, smoked or barbequed meat
Foods high in saturated fat and trans fat are consistently associated with high cancer rates. CHEESE and butter typically contain over ten times as much saturated fat as fish and white meat
chicken and turkey.
Salt has been consistently linked to stomach cancer and stroke, even in populations that eat diets low in saturated fat.
Add the carcinogenic potential from heated and overcooked oils (usually trans containing) delivered in doughnuts and fries with the powerful cancer inducing properties of carbohydrates cooked
at high heat (acrylamide formation) and you have a great cancer potion.
Needless to say, I advise people to avoid the foods on my “worst list” entirely.
An ounce of cheese (equal to four dice) is considered one serving and provides 200 - 300 mg of calcium. Most adults, ages 19 to 50, need 1,000 mg of calcium per day and adults ages 50 and
older need 1,200 mg of calcium per day. Since milk is one of the main ingredients, cheese also provides a good source of protein and vitamin B2, riboflavin. (Information from American
Dietetic Association)
Dental Health. Cheese not only is noncariogenic (i.e., does not promote dental caries), but may also protect against dental caries (11,31). Dental caries results from the breakdown of tooth
enamel (i.e., demineralization) by acids produced during the fermentation of sugars and starches by plaque bacteria (11,32). The critical pH for demineralization is in the range of 5.2 to 5.7
(11,33). The recent, first-ever report of the U.S. Surgeon General on the oral health of the American public describes dental caries as a "silent epidemic" (34). Prevention of this disease is
therefore a public health priority.

14I very rarely actually use it, but brie is my absolute FAVORITE -- I couldn't make it through the summer without brie and crackers at all our picnics.
15Cheddar, mozzarella, monterey jack, havarti, parmesan, and American (only because it makes Subway sandwiches perfect).
16Gruyere and Provolone .......
17Cheese is the most processed food on the planet. It is Pure poison. Eat to live, don't live to eat.
