Caliza's 2006 Syrah won several important awards at the competition, but I preferred the bold smoothness of its sister wine,
Azimuth. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Tannat, and Alicante Bouschet, this well-bodied wine is highly drinkable now and also suitable for aging.
