I made the Guinness Stout cake you had posted in January. It was pretty awesome and rich. I made it into cupcakes and could not do the frosting. I simply whipped cream with a little agave nectar. My guests loved it.
1Don't forget cupcakes! The bf and I made some last week. Guinness in the batter, rich chocolate ganache in the center and a Baileys Irish Cream frosting on top.
We called them Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes. There's a recipe on chewonthatblog.com.
2I made beer enchiladas with Guinness once. Don't think it was supposed to be with Guinness, but they came out really well.
3I always put beer in chili, and tried adding Guiness once and it was a TO DIE FOR rich flavor with all the spiciness.
4I made the Stout cake twice last year. Once for a friends party and the second for my family.
The first time I made it, I didn't have heavy cream for the ganache/frosting so I used cool whip mixed with the chocolate and extra beer. It made the cake extra moist, decadent, and people loved it. There wasn't a crumb left.
The second time I followed the recipe to the letter chocolate ganache with cream etc, and my family wasn't too thrilled with it. There was some left over. :[
This year I'm making it the way I did the first time.
I love how little accidents
happen.
Freakshow- I followed the link but couldn't find the recipe. It sounds delicious tho.
5I made these cupcakes from Smitten Kitchen a few weeks ago, and they were a hit.
