Every Monday through Friday, at 11:30 in the morning, I like to eat a banana. I've been performing this culinary ritual for at least the past two years. I know I'm not the only one who has a food routine: for as long as I can remember, I've watched DearSugar eat a salad every day for lunch. And my brother enjoys a homemade smoothie each morning. As much as I love trying exciting new dishes, I find my daily banana a necessary comfort. How about you? Do you have a culinary routine? What is it?

I have yogurt every weekday morning. I can't start my workday without it.
When I am sick, I have to have orange juice and saltine crackers. Doesn't matter what I'm sick with, but I can't get better without OJ and crackers. I'm nutty.
1When I'm sick (with whatever) I HAVE to eat Top Ramen soup in Oritenal flavor. It has nothing in it that would make me feel better (no vitamins or nothing) but its the only thing I want to eat.
2Everyday at 11am I like to eat fruit and a mozzarella string cheese, and then at four I have Muscle Milk Light chocolate shake.
I eat oatmeal every morning. I can eat anything else with it but if I don't have my daily serving of oatmeal it throws off my whole day.
3Apart from my morning coffee, not really. I always have to eat what I feel like eating and it's always different. My husband is the total opposite of me. He eats yogurt and muesli every morning.
4Morning coffee after breakfast and on the train.
Apple in the afternoon at around 3-3:30. (or another fruit depending on what's in season)
5I eat two poached eggs and coffee every single morning. the only time i break that routine is on the weekend, when I might break out the bagels and lox
6I have an apple in the car on the way to work each day. It's helped me quit smoking, as I always had to have a cig or two in the car.
7I need breakfast every morning when I wake up. Oatmeal, fruits, nuts or nut butter.. it fills me up and gives me energy throughout the day. I've been doing that for years.
8coffee every morning and when I'm sick I always have to eat cottage cheese
9I drink a glass of water first. Then I'll have a small bowl of Trail Mix Crunch cereal with either Almond milk or Helmp milk on it. Plus a small glass of orange juice and a banana every morning. On the days when I'm out of bananas, it feels so weird!
10I cannot eat lunch on weekdays (at work) before 1:30p, no matter what are the circumstances I will not budge from that timing

11I'm not organized enough to have a routine, half the time i'm running late in the mornings and just grab something out of the pantry or have one of the snacks in my desk.
12then once i'm at school, i have students 12:30. and lunch is ALWAYS different...I wish I could have a routine!
I eat a banana and a piece of toast with hummus for breakfast and a salad for lunch on weekdays.
13I always have to have a glass of water as soon as I wake up, then cereal and coffee. At night, right before bed, I like to have a cup of green tea.
14Most mornings I have toast with almond butter, apples + honey. The one thing that absolutely does NOT change is my cup of tea. Gotta have it.
15i like to switch it up a lot, but my one weird thing is my need to brush my teeth before i eat anything....i brush my teeth first thing in the morning and would never think of putting one bite of food into my mouth before i have brush...i can't do what most people do by eating breaky first and brushing after
16I HAVE to have cereal at some point of the day. I seriously get all restless if I don't have it for breakfast.
And a hangover food I always have to have handy: tater tots!
17I always drink water after I take a shower. I don't know why, I get extremely thirsty!
18Does a bacon wrapped hot dog every Sunday at 2 A.M. count?
19green tea, first thing at work...whether winter or summer!
20A fried egg over toast with jam is my absolute fav! I can eat this any time of day, everyday, and I always seem to have the ingredients on hand in my embarrassingly empty section of the fridge.
21Reading all these has made me realize I have absolutely no culinary habits - unless you count grocery shopping. I drink different types of coffee or coffee beverages and never at the same time or day. Sometimes I eat breakfast, sometimes not. I positively loathe food monotony. In fact, we have pizza every Friday at work and I can't stand to look at it anymore because I need more variety.
The only food quirk I have I guess is that I don't like to run out of stuff so I buy it before it totally runs out if I catch it in time. But I don't really even do that so I guess I'm just food habitless...

23Banana every day at work first thing in the morn.
Black olives every eve first thing when I get home.
24My first meal of the day has to be breakfast regardless of the actual time of day. It can vary from cereal to eggs to yogurt... as long as it's breakfast related, it goes. I cannot start my day without something "breakfast-y".
25Skigurl, same with me! I can't even drink coffee before brushing. My husband thought it's weird but now he's doing it too...and we brush after the brekkie as well!
26i always eat a cheddar cheese, turkey, and mayo sandwich on a skinny baugette from the same deli every saturday
sunday, i get bread from the deli and make a tuna fish sandwich
lol, it never varies!
27toast with butter and jam and a glass with chocolate milk for breakfast! ill vary with plain milk or a mini bagel lol but it has stayed like this for forever.. and once a week ill have oatmeal.
28I like to mix things up, but I DO eat a yogurt with banana slices everyday at lunch. And my snack before dinnertime is usually artichoke hummus with crackers.
But I mostly enjoy variety and tire of the same foods all the time!
29i drink one tall glass of soy milk every morning, and then once i get to work have some yogurt.
30I definitely have set food habits - it's something I should probably work on, actually, since part of it is wrapped up in ED issues. Every morning, I have to have my porridge.
I usually have a microwaved egg with an extra white, and a bowl with 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup
soy milk, 1/2 cup water, a big handful of raisins, sultanas, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and a sprinkle of goji berries. I can take or leave the eggs if we're out, but just try to stand
between me and my porridge, heh. Depending on what time it is by the time I eat, I usually have to watch either Good Morning, E!, The View or Law and Order. I know you're not supposed to
watch TV while you eat, but I can't help myself! And on Fridays, I have to come home, put my PJs on and eat a toasted cheese sandwich and tomato lentil soup while I watch TV again. My life is
wild.
31For me it is a great salad at lunch with lettuce, celery, red pepper, home made salad dressing, flaxseeds, a spoon of bacon bits and another of parmesan cheese.
At night and in front of the TV I take daily a sugar free jell-o with a spoon of heavy cream on the top.
I cannot live without these 2.
32Every day, every meal is a certain culinary routine. I'm going to spare you the details because it's borderline OCD.
33I don't have food habits...I eat different things every day. I need variety to feel satisfied.
34Sort of. My breakfast either consists of a bowl of yoghurt with frozen raspberries or blueberries OR toasted rye bread with John West tuna with a twist of lime and cracked pepper topped off with some dark lettuce. Every morning i have to have an espresso, it gets me going
35I have so many culinary rituals that it's insane. I have to have my cup of coffee out of the exact same mug every single day and I always drink it with French Vanilla creamer and Equal. I also always eat cut up veggies with salsa and yogurt every night while I watch TV, I always eat a salad with my dinner, and I have popcorn as a snack on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and yogurt with fruit on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (I know, it's a little OCD). And for whatever reason, I always drink a Diet Coke in the car on the way to work.
36definitely the coffee and breakfast every morning, but i try to vary my breakfast. tomato bisque-y soup with spinach, corn, peas and green beans for either lunch or dinner like 5 days per week. love tomato soup.
37eggs for breakfast at least 5 times a week // at least one glass of Coca cola daily // chicken soup, once a week // tacos once every two weeks // dry cereal when i'm at any of my friend's house lol...
38GOTTA have my morning coffee and also my bowl of granola, vanilla yogurt, and either banana slices or blueberries mixed in.
Lunch is usually a sandwich or soup of some sort...and dinner is always something new!
39I mix it up, although I try to have fruit and veggies as a mid morning and mid afternoon snack.
40Nothing consistent except for at least one cup of coffee every morning. It's sad, but I will get a headache without it.
41Wow I love everyone's nutty habits!! I'm like FinnLover - I just have to eat what I feel like eating (the exception being I have to tell myself sometimes to put down the big bar of chocolate or not to open that can of Pringles). I like to listen to my body.
