It's looking to be quite the year for celebrity chef Cat Cora. Not only does the female Iron Chef have a bun in the oven, but she's also announced she will open her first signature restaurant in Disney World.
The chef, whose Food Network bio says she's currently working on her signature restaurant will open Kouzzina by Cat Cora, a Mediterranean restaurant at Disney's Boardwalk Resort this Fall.
Cora, a native of Jackson, MS, recently opened CCQ, a quick-service barbecue restaurant in Costa Mesa, CA, but the descendant of Greek restaurateurs is famous for her Mediterranean cuisine. Cora says, the new restaurant will feature "time-honored recipes passed down from my ancestors, as well as my favorite Greek and Mediterranean dishes that my family loves."
I'm excited that the Iron Chef will finally have a chance to serve her signature dishes to the public. Are you curious to check out her restaurant?

well i think that it's a great endeavor for her - and disney is a great venue for a place when you don't want to compete with Vegas. i hope that it does well and i'm sure that i'll check it out the next time i go down there when it's open.
1I think Cat Cora is great! I've been watching her on the Food Network for years. I will definitely check out her restaurant when it opens. Best of luck to her!
2I like her, but I'd rather die than ever set foot in Disney World.
3I think she is better than that......but with bun in the oven i guess that makes sense. Maybe her kids will get to play at Disney world all day?
4Good for her.
5Just ate at Kouzzina by Cat Cora at Disney last night with guests from out of town. We were so excited to eat at her restaurant.
WHAT A DISASTER. First - it looks exactly like Spoodles - barely a change. The service was the worst I have ever seen at a Disney restaurant and all the apologies (many from the manager, the waiter, the hostess, etc.) would never get me back to that place.
Sorry Cat - this one is a loser.

6Kouzzina has made it through the soft opening and the grand opening and seems to be running much better. We dined there on on a Friday night (925 September), and the place was packed. Spoodles was always noisy because of the architecture and its reincarnation as Kouzzina sans some of the tschotchkas still has the same sound barrier breaking capabilities.
7The staff is still working the new menu offerings timings, but if you are a fan of European style dining, the timing is just right. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was phenomenal. Cat Cora's touch was apparent everywhere.
Slow down, eat dinner like a Greek or Italian family, and enjoy! Act like the party of six children and six adults right across from us. Just yell, "Opa!" every so often!
