Our ongoing coverage of wedding season on the Sugar Network is back! As nervous and stressful as you may get on the big day, it's super important to remember to eat - especially breakfast (don't skip it!). Whether you are a bridesmaid, the maid of honor, or the bride herself, the last thing you want is to have one glass of champagne and pass out at the wedding. To avoid this embarrassing fate, the bride should organize a snack table or provide bag lunches for all of those involved in the wedding party. If the bride is overwhelmed, the job can be distributed to a trusted and reliable bridesmaid or close friend. For some quick and easy wedding day snackables, read more

I decided I didn't need to eat the morning of my wedding. Got married at 1:00 PM and was dry heaving on the way to the reception. The moral of this story: EAT!
1I will keep that in mind.
2I was so nervous I couldn't make myself eat much so my maid of honor went and got me some Ensure shakes to try to get in my stomach so I didn't pass out or get sick! I didn't pass out or get sick!
3At the reception of my wedding---i could not eat anything! i was so nervous, my guests were saying its because im excited-- but its more than that, its like im taking it all in my system, being a married woman and all.
thankfully-- i didnt pass out or anything... and im back to my normal eating habits now.
4There will definitely be food present beforehand -- if not for me, at least for my bridesmaids! My fiance was a groomsman at a wedding last year, and they had NO FOOD all day for anyone in the bridal party (he had to be there at 11am; the ceremony was at 6). The groomsman were all so hungry, they ate basically all the food at the cocktail hour, not leaving anything for the other guests.
5Ah, the cheese looks too yummy...
6Animal crackers sound great. The bride (and even some of the wedding party) may be nervous, so something this neutral will not upset anyones stomach.
7this is a really good idea! i never thought about it. i'm in a wedding in october and i doubt the bride has thought about it, too. maybe this will be my job!
8We stayed @ a bed & breakfast the night before our wedding (bridal and grooms party) and they served us french toast, bacon, and canteloupe for breakfast!! yuuumy!
9what an absolutely smart thing to remind us!
10i'm getting married on 7/7/7 and i tell you what eating the day of (if you hadn't mentioned it to me) is something i would have totally forgotten! thank you sooooooooooooo much partysugar! you're a life saver! i'm calling one of my bridemaids right now and putting her in charge of it
I did two things that helped with this. We did pictures before the service, so my hubby and I could have some time. While everyone else headed to the reception and did cocktail hour, we had a room upstairs with snacks to give us some time to relax and eat something. We also had the caterer deliver a picnic basket of reception food to out hotel before we got there. That way, when we both realized we were starving later that night, we had some really great food available. Cheers!
