Recently, Party and I partook in Edible Pursuit, a food trivia event produced by Edible San Francisco. While there, we tackled a surprisingly difficult question about which fruits ripen on the vine.
Since Spring means the onset of some of our favorite fresh fruits, we thought we would test you to see if you can tell us which seasonal fruits continue to ripen after they've been picked.
Are you ready to begin? Let's go!

14/6 Got apricots and strawberries confused.
26/6! I really surprised myself there:-)
36/6 - I know and love my fruits!
45/6
56/6 yay! :]
6I thought grapes were a fall fruit.
7Not a mango devotee, so not surprised I missed that one!
83/6
95/6 - I learned my new thing of the day - tomatoes continue to ripen.
10For those who don't know this about tomatoes, if you pick them green and place them in a paper bag for a week or two, they will ripen. They don't taste as good as the vine ripened tomatoes, but they're ok. I learned this from some of my gardening friends a couple of years ago.
11Yeah, the tomato thing is why vine-ripened ones turn to mush and nastiness so fast. They're already perfect ripe when they're picked, so if you wait around with them and they're still ripening, they get pretty gross.

135/6 I got the tomatoes one wrong too. Tomatoes would be my least favourite vegetable/fruit whatever
14Yay 100%! Seems like most stone fruit continue to ripen after being picked.
And most tomato producers depend on the fact that tomatoes ripen after being picked, which is why so many growers tout theirs as "vine ripened" to mean that they're better.
15Rocked it.
165/6 got strawberries wrong!
They may not ripen, but they'll sure turn to mush if you don't eat
them quickly!
