Note to self: Mondays are not the new Saturdays. After judging a bartender karaoke competition hosted by Chartreuse on Monday night, I was hurting big time yesterday. An excruciating hangover usually comes with an intense craving for nourishment. While sometimes I opt for a bagel and cream cheese or an egg sandwich, this time I was hungry for the salty crunch of potato chips. Luckily I had a bag of Cape Cod's jalapeno and aged cheddar chips at my desk.
Whether it's greasy, spicy, or porky, there's always that one thing you must have to help overcome a hangover. So tell me, what's yours? What foods do you eat when hung over?

Evans
Velvet
In Puncto
Mashed taters.
oohh, good one, I should try mashed potatoes next time. I like a bagel with egg, sausage, and cheese. I need grease and carbs.
Mydia, me too! Greasy carbs. I usually want a fried egg sanwhich with bacon and cheese, or a large order of french fries or meat(steak or fried ham) with homefries with cheese. Hangovers are not health-time.
Bacon and other greasy goods.
I NEED grease. It's the only thing that will make me feel better, or a huge breakfast with an omelet, home fries, toast with butter and jam, etc. and a coffee the size of my head.
I don't get hung over.
(Knock on wood)
tamales
A Dr. Pepper and a chili cheeseburger. I try not to be hungover often.
Filibertos!!!
Toast!
Ramen or Pho... salty broth is perfect
i'm all about the egg and cheese on a bagel - i don't usually eat bagels, but sometimes it just helps!
eggs.....greasy food!
Waffles, eggs, home fries
Ramen, bread, pancakes, and lots of gatorade
when i'm hungover i feel hungry the whole day
i enjoy the grease but sometimes it makes me nauseous
it kinda depends on the day and how hungover i am!
i've been trying lately not to get hungover because it truly sucks and my body can't handle the booze like it used to
Egg and cheese on a bagel and fountain soda
greasy cheese pizza and hot wings!
A greasy diner breakfast of homefries, scrambled eggs, buttery toast, and some bacon. With a coke to wash it down.
I don't get hungover.
lots of greasy fries, or a tuna melt. and lots of water
greasy food and LOTS of it --- the only time I eat that stuff!
Pho! it cures everything....
breakfast burritos
Ramen but I boil down the liquid, then add fried onions (from a box), a fried egg on top and eat it with ketchup and sometimes mayo. Sounds disgusting but is delicious and cures any hangover.
If I am at home then a breakfast buritto from Greent Chili Kitchen - they are near my house and oh so good. If I am at work then a breakfast sandwich does the trick!
I always get a quarter pounder with cheese and fries from McDonald's. that is about the only time I eat there is when I am hung over. I just crave it for some reason. Must be the greasiness. lol
Any eggy breakfast dish (sandwich, burrito, Florentine) or a big giant Mission burrito
McDonald's bacon egg and cheese biscuit with two hashbrowns!
I always crave dairy products when I'm hungover- cheese, ice cream, a glass of milk. A Starbucks Frappuccino is a fantastic cure.
any and evrything. it really just depends on whats nearest
it really depends. sometimes i want anything and everything, but sometimes i'm nauseated just thinking about food. usually i will want something very specific and its generally different every time. last time i was hung over i couldn't eat anything all day and we were going to a ball game. when we got inside i saw a vendor stand and there were bottles of coke lined up along the front and i knew that was what i wanted instantly. that was the breaking point, after that i wanted specific things and my dear boyfriend, eager to please, kept getting up to get me more snacks as i decided what i wanted. popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, etc. lol!!
Cheeseburger, small fry and Large Diet Coke from McDonalds or a breakfast burrito with eggs, chorizo, guac, pico de gallo etc. I'm certainly not hungover now but both still sound good...
new york city bagel & cream cheese, or spicy thai food... LOTS AND LOTS of water and NO coffee (the acid hurts my stomach and even if I'm exhausted, I'd rather re-hydrate than be fully awake)
Definitely lots of Gatorade ...and i usually crave nutrients when i'm hung-over so I'll typically have bananas, strawberries, and other fruits.
Lot's of water and fast food. I haven't been hungover in awhile though. Hopefully I can keep it that way.
Carbs, lots of them, dry toast or toasted bagel are the best. No greasy food. And I try not to have a hang-over (famous last words)
Jell-o shots and whiskey. Just power through, baby.
Everything?
Just kidding. Any sort of breakfast sandwich, the denser the bread (e.g. bagel), the better.
Gatorade and Chinese take-out (usually chicken or shrimp with broccoli) fixes me right up every time!
If I'm hungover, then I don't want to eat anything because I feel like I will puke it up. So I stick to crackers and broth.
I don't drink but from what I've heard some spicy Chilaquines or Menudo do the trick.
cold pizza and if that's not in the house then I eat anything greasy that I can find.
McDonald's. Either the bacon/egg/cheese biscuit and hashbrown or the two cheeseburger meal, always with a huge diet coke.
Poutine, breakfast sandwiches or spaghetti bolognese.
I'm a bottomless pit when I'm hungover. Eggs in the morning is a must and anything spicy throughout the day. Mexican food always does me right.
either a burger or mexican food!!! mountain dew works wonders!
Depends on how bad the hangover is....usually, I'll wake up at the crack of dawn really queasy. I'll make a huge tumbler of lemon ice water and watch PBS and drink it until I feel better. Then I go back to sleep. Food needs to be either greasy or really sweet, so I'll either make hash browns with country gravy or french toast with lots of butter and powdered sugar. Or just go out to eat those things, sometimes cooking is beyond me when I'm in that state! Hangovers whilst camping require Vitamin Water (XXX flavor), string cheese and Cheezits. Delightful!
pickles!!! preferably bread & butter ones
