Last weekend when I was cooking at FabSugar's house, I was surprised to see a stylish, yet eco-friendly compost bin in her kitchen. Although she's not much of a big cook, she is a fan of helping the environment. Fab's commitment to green living has inspired me to start composting. How about you?

Here in Ontario Canada the "green bin" as it's called, goes out to the curb every week with the garbage and recycle box. Almost everyone has one!
living in NYC - it's kind of hard to have one...so unfortunately i don't .
living in a studio apartment ... there just isn't room!
Not a commercial one, a homemade one out of chicken wire and wood. I need another one, too!

I just found a bunch of DIY compost bin, it's on my list now, I'm hoping to do it within the next few weeks!
Yeah, I have one. But, I've grown up with composting and found it weird to stop once I've moved out my parents' house.
Not so much a "bin"...more of a compost pile in a corner of the backyard.
Living in Miami makes that pretty impossible. The heat, humidity, and year round mosquitoes would cause a whole mess of problems.
i learned how to make one in my nutrition class. its in one of those plastic storage bins you can find at target. it sits on the back patio of my apartment.
I don't have one but i would like to start one
Nope, but maybe I should...
Nope.
I do. Between recycling and composting, the trash gets cut down to almost nothing.
Maybe a post on how to compost?
Now that I have one, I cannot imagine not having one. We never have to empty the trash can! Modus, Casa has LOTS of posts on how to compost.
Ah, good to know!
kea718 - I live in Hawaii and have one. It is definitely possible to compost in Florida. In fact, the warm temperatures makes the entire process go much much faster.
Here's a link for those of you in "tropical" or warmer climates:

Make sure you scroll down - the page IS there somewhere!
I'll be making one (home made is awesome) in the next few weeks I hope. Waste not want not is still a huge voice of reason in my head.
I started one to help my garden.
I don't have one because I don't have the room for it, but if I did have the space, I'd totally have one. Compost makes the best gardens!
i'm not into the smell and the insects that come with it.
We don't have a commercial one, my husband made ours. It's great for our veggie garden and outdoor container garden!
I want to have one. Which one did she have?
I used to have one, before we moved. It made gardening so much better. I just haven't gotten around to making a (new) compost bin & compost pile. Part of the problem is that I'm moving (again!) in a year and probably won't have a garden - just a balcony garden. It takes a while for compost to decompose, so I might forgo one for the near future.
