Ganache
A chocolate sauce made from a mixture of chocolate and cream, ganache may be used to fill a pastry, add a glossy glaze to a cake, or form the center of a traditional chocolate truffle. Ganache is typically created by pouring heated cream over chopped dark chocolate, then blending until smooth, although it may also be enhanced with liqueurs or extracts. Cream-to-chocolate ratios vary depending on the application; less cream results in a firmer ganache.

1Well said.
2It's always funny to me when I make a cake with ganache instead of frosting, and my guests assume it's some kind of difficult-to-make delicacy. (Of course, depending on my mood, I may not correct them)
If only they knew.
3when i was younger i always thought that this was more complex than it was - but as i got older it became quite obvious that a fancy name doesn't make it so much harder
4That photo just made me die a little bit inside (I'm going low-sugar!
). How I love ganache
over chocolate cake.....
5I needed this story on Tuesday!!! I was thinking about making a ganache to put over brownies I made, but after looking online decided I didn't have the time. I did check Yumsugar first and saw some stories, but this would have helped! Thanks for it now though!
