To celebrate the highly anticipated launch of its new Kentucky Grilled Chicken, fast food chain KFC is giving away gratis pieces of grilled chicken to customers today.
Apparently, the new recipe is just as top-secret as the Colonel's original fried chicken recipe. It's marinated and seasoned with a blend of six herbs and spices, then slow-grilled in a proprietary oven. I've been curious about this healthier version of chicken ever since it first came out a few weeks ago, so today will be the perfect chance to put it to the test.
What about you: Have you tried the chicken yet? If not, will you be sampling it for free today?

The chicken tastes pretty good actually. A little on the greasy side, though, but then again it's KFC.
1We had it last weekend. It was pretty darn good! Glad it wasn't fried (who needs to eat more fried things anyway), but still satisfied my chicken craving
It was a little greasy (as mentioned above), but for fast food "grilled" chicken, I'll take
two buckets!
2I just had it this past weekend 4/26/2009, it's delicious, very good ,
nice flavor of spices and much healthier than the fried chicken.
it's a good sign when the bucket is not greasy like the fried version,
I didn't think it was that greasy, but I took off the skin, the skin just
falls off so no big deal, it's even more healthier if you take off the
skin, really the skin is there just to keep the meat moist and juicy
during the cooking process
3Really...is that all the skin is there for? I mean...it's not also tasty and edible?
4We had it yesterday, it was pretty good. The green beans are really good also.
5How do you get the free chicken- do you have to buy something else?
6Well, it's still KFC so I'm sure they're breeding the chickens with plenty of fat in them. Not that I have a problem with this.
I'm waiting for some more comments on taste before I make up my mind to try it.
7Darn it. I wish I knew at lunch. Free lunch!
8Yuck. May be 'grilled' but more like soaked in oil and then crispifyed. Might as well get the fried. Not good grilled chicken.
If your not going to get grilled chicken for the sake of grilled chicken then its perfectly fine!
You don't have to purchase anything, just ask and you'll get one piece.
9Yummmm KFC is always yummy -- Grilled OR Fried!
10ain't no body gona want this........ haha like my use of English?
11KFC chicken has improved locally over the past year. it's best to order around noon & 5pm the chicken is more fresh at those times.
12ok ummm no it isnt soaked in oil or whatever you say it is actually real chicken delivered from tyson, cleaned seasoned and yes grilled no joke , no grease except what is naturally cooked out of the chicken which drips out and into a rack under the chicken so no soaking is involved ....ewww anyway it is way beter 4 you and it is really good!!
13o yeah and also we cook chicken constantly all day long so old chicken is really not possible unless u live in a tiny town and nobody eats chicken but to make sure it is really fresh (we throw it away after so long) come at opening, right after lunch or around 5 because we r very busy and cant keep chicken in our warmer for any length of time
14i have not tried the chicken but i would like to how do you get the free chicken.
15your grilled chicken is great.
16My husband is glutenfree. Is there any wheat in the spices?
17Grilled Breast from KFC is Calories 180g , Total Fat 4g, Carbs 0g and Protein 35g and the Fried Breast is... Calories: 350, Total Fat: 20g, Carbs: 7g, Protein: 36g... So KFC's grilled chicken is much healthier... However the sodium is a bit high at 440
18The taste is good but after the original promotion at 3.99, it is way too expensive. Just came back from a local KFC and spent $13.03 for 2 meals with with breasts. We won't be ordering it again, it's not that good.
19The $13.03 did NOT include drinks.
20grilled chicken is the worst thing the world has done beside giving presidency to obama.
