If Mother's Cookies were on your list of discontinued products that you continue to miss, you can cross them off now, because beginning May 4 — just in time for Mother's Day — select Mother's Cookies will return to store shelves in the West.
In October of last year, Mother's unexpectedly closed its doors. Cookie lovers everywhere mourned the loss with farewell t-shirts and by raiding supermarkets for the last of the brand's cookies.
Then, in December, Kellogg's purchased the rights to Mother's Cookies, which is why in a matter of days the snacks will be back in grocery stores where they rightfully belong. To see what varieties will be returning, read more.

Will they keep the recipes and packaging? Nabisco tried to elbow in with their line of "Nabisco Classics" featuring Iced Oatmeal, pink and white iced animal cookies, etc. But they didn't taste right.
Iced Oatmeal and Taffy sandwich cookies are straight up crack. Sad to see the peanut butter gauchos didn't make the cut
1TAFFYS!!!!
2I love Circus Animals every few years or so.
3Iced Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip and of course the classic Animal cookie. I'll be buying a bag of each
4Oh joy! I love Circus Animal Cookies whenever I have a cold. They take me back to being a spoiled little girl lying on the couch being hand feed circus animal cookies by my mom.
5Joy!
Yay! I love the Iced Circus Animal cookies.
6YES! Taffy's back!
7Your Mother's cookies are what I've dreamed of for the last year...
8taffys and circus animals
9no more Angels
the only ones that ever mattered *tear
10Circus animals and the Iced Lemonade and Iced Oatmeal
11My beloved Peanut Butter Gauchos didn't make the cut? Bummer! The Circus Animals are a favorite of my kids, so that will make them happy. And the Taffy ones are rather addicting! I'm so glad that Mother's are back!
12yayyyyyy! i barely noticed like 2 months ago that they were gone and i checked every grocery store in town. i am REALLY glad that they are back!
13yaaayyyy! i love those cookies; thank god they are back !
14I wondered about that when I saw coupons for Mother's cookies in one of my coupon printing sites this morning. So came looking for news.
15Happy for the taffy. Boo on the peanut butter. But cautiously optimistic with Kellogg involved. We don't like or eat any of their cereal. What will they do to these cookies? Would have been better maybe if Lance had taken them over as they did Archway.
Just bought packages of taffy and iced oatmeal and they are just as good as before. They didn't have a spot on the aisle yet but were on the endcaps.
16ICED ANIMAL COOKIES!!!!!
I've been in serious withdrawal. I tried some other brand of iced animal cookie and it tasted weird. I was just in Safeway and saw the Mother's display, my heart skipped and I grabbed the last two bags of iced animal goodness from Mothers, and yes, they taste every bit as good as they used to.
Happyness!!!!!
17Yay!!! My favorites!!!! my Favorite is the Taffy ones but too bad they aren't bringing back the Gauchos, they were good too, I am so happy now!!
18Yes!!!
19These are the cookies we always take camping. I love the Iced Oatmeal and the Iced Circus Animals. Hooray for Kellog's for saving a great brand.
The English Tea sandwich cookies I bought at Safeway Sunday taste just the way I remember them and are very fresh -- yay!
20I hope they will have the iced molasses that come out at Christmas time....those are our favorites!!!
21Am I the only one that is missing the Iced Raisin cookies? A childhood favorite of mine!
22Was so excited to read this until I noticed that the Peanut Butter Gauchos did not make the cut. Wonder if it had to do with peanut butter related sales being down so soon after the big recall. Perhaps they will add it later. Here's hoping.
23What about the butter cookies in the box?
24I found bags of Mother's cookies on the shelf at my local Safeway yesterday...JOY! Circus Animals are just as good as they have always been! I'm hoping that Kellogs will consider adding the angel cookies back into production, they were one of my favorite-favorites.
25The English Tea Cookies are not as good. They are kinda close but the tecture and flavor is. Frosted Animal cookies are not the same either.. What about the Chocolate Striped shortbread?
26Iced Raisins!!!! Flaky Flix!!! Those were my two favs, please bring them back!!!
27I was in withdrawal when I found out Mother's had gone out of business. I saw someone at the store with Animal cookies and I almost tackled her! I ran for my English Tea cookies, they are ok, but definitely not quite the same. The old filling had more flavor but acceptable over nothing.
28I grew up on these cookies, moved to the east coast and oh, how I missed them! Every time I went back to Cali I loaded up a big suitcase with only Mother's Cookies and froze them. Since Kellogg's is running the show now I'm hopeful they will end up nationwide. Glad to see the Iced Oatmeal, Double Fudge and Circus Animals made it back......but where's my Flakey Flix?!?
29Fudge Striped Shortbread! Please! I need my Fudge Striped Shortbread! Keebler's version is awful.
30Gauchos (peanut butter) are the best. Kellog's, please put the Gauchos back on the shelf. The flavor in these cookies was crazy good.
31I HAVE to have iced raisin cookies again, love the Taffy cookies and Circus Animals, I had forgotten about Flaky Flix. Does anyone know if they will be available in the South or just the West? Hate the cookie aisle at Wal-Mart and other stores now, NOTHING good. Nabiscos versions are awful.
32Everyone needs to email Kellogg's and beg them to bring back your favorites. This is the only way they will listen. Please beg for the Iced Raisin ones for me.
