Recently I went to an event with a buffet. From classic shrimp cocktail to lamb skewers with tzatziki, all of the usual suspects were present. Then, there was this mysterious casserole dish. The bottom resembles potato gratin, while the top looks like Caesar salad. I love both of these dishes by themselves, but was unsure how they would taste together. Not hungry, I didn't end up trying it. If you were at the party, would you taste it?

Suis-je la seule à trouver que ça ressemble à un plat pré mâcher, voir pire ...??
1oui, carla... it does look pre-chewed
the problem is i
think the potatoes au gratin would be ideally warm, and so the lettuce would be gross and wilted. or the whole thing would be cold and yucky
pass!
2No, no, no thank you!
3I just don't see the point of mixing such totally different foods.I agree with fauxgraphic that the lettuce would be nasty!
4Yeah, hot salad? No thank you!
5I ate at a restaurant last night that serves Caesar salads with grilled romaine hearts. It's very good, but somehow I don't think this would be.
6I love caesar salads and I love scalloped potatoes, but I would definitely pass on this. I like my romaine crisp and cool; this would be nasty.
7Um, sorry, but that just looks unappealing and gross. Wilted and soggy salad just isn't one of my favorite things to eat, I'm afraid.
8My hot and cold foods shouldn't mix:

If I want wilted greens I will buy them at the day old store......
10Those look like brussel sprouts
11nope! aren't ceasar salads bad enough for you without all the potato and cheese on top? who'd want that much. and besides that - i think that having something warm on your salad would make the lettuce wilt even that much more.
12ew that looks gross. i just don't think the starchy potatoes would mix well with the crunchy lettuce.
13Eww no.
14Eww. Not a fan of ceaser salad or scalloped potatoes. I wouldn't even think about trying it.
15I don't think I could stomach that salad on bit. It is wrong on so many levels.
