It's Cocktail Week here in San Francisco and after attending several of the events, I can't stop thinking about mojitos, mixology, and Manhattans. Since many of you don't live in the city by the bay, I thought it would be cool for you get in on the fun by taking this classic cocktail quiz. I'll list the ingredients and you select the name of the drink. Disclaimer: you may find yourself craving a potent libation!

1so few of these recipes are what I'd traditionally see as ingredients. nonetheless, LOVE me a caipirinha!!!!!
2I have never had most of those drinks. There were even a few I had never heard of.
3As with the original post on caipirinhas, I must argue against the use of simple syrup. The muddling of the limes is vastly assisted by the granules of sugar. Also, simple syrup distributes through the drink too quickly - you want a drink that changes from sip to sip, not a homogenous mixture throughout.
4As a restaurant worker and bartender I take objection to some of these definitions. I appreciate the new take on some of the classics, but they are not the classic ingredients--esp. in the case of the appletini and old-fashioned.
5But maybe I'm just cranky to get such a low score!
I've always wanted to try one of these.

9same here aimeeb. You can tell I don't drink much since I only got 4 right and I pretty much guessed at those lol
108/8! And I pretty much stick to Amaretto Sours and shots of Patron! I had to guess on the Appletini because I always see them green, but it sounded tasty the grown up version! I'm totally in the mood for a cocktail now, and it's only 9am! ha ha

15I've only ever seen old fashioned with orange- love them!
