6 Ways to Cut Libation Costs at Your Wedding
Limit the bar service.
Skip stocking an open bar in favor of offering a list of pre-selected items, such as one red wine, one white wine, and a beer. If the open bar isn't something you're willing to budge on, designate the first hour as free open bar, then convert it into a cash bar. Don't want to do that either? Assign attendees a limited number of drink tickets.

Hmm. We did a limited open bar, but I think drink tickets are a little tacky.

2Drink tickets at a wedding?! This is like, one of the biggest FAUX PAS of a wedding. Don't have a bar at all if you're going to limit people or remind them that you're counting each drink/penny by handing out tickets. Super, super tacky...
