As a kid I was crazy for processed treats like Twinkies and Ho-Hos. However, once I got to college, I made a vow to eat as few as I possibly could. So tell me, why am I so intrigued by the new Banana flavored Twinkies? Does it have something to do with banana being the original Twinkie flavor and how it's the first time since WWII that Hostess has featured it as a "regular" flavor? I'm not really sure, but I strangely want to try them. How about you, will you hunt down Banana Twinkies?
Note: It has actually been a limited edition flavor several times since WWII, most recently for the release of the King Kong DVD.

I don't eat any kind of twinkie. Ever. Period.
1This is a treat I also don't indulge in. However, what kind of food afficionado would I be if I were to ignore an historical food favorite when it gets a retro-chic makeover? May I just add - God Bless the person who thought to deep fry these babies!!!
2What a waste of calories!
3twinkise or oka, but not a fan of banana flavors. I actually haven't had a twinkie in, lordy, years? they always leave a weird feeling in my mouth, from what i remember....
4ew. ew. ew. ew. ew.
Did I say ew?
5I'm kind of curious about them.
I can't recall eating a Twinkie in the past 15 years though, I found them pretty sweet and flavorless as a kid. I can see the appeal of banana though.
6EEEEEyucky!
7I don't like banana flavoured stuff.
On another note...
8Anyone know where I can find the old kind of flakies (I think they were strawberry) instead of this new apple-raspberry style?
I still haven't forgiven Hostess discontinuing Chocodiles.
9Absolutely! I heard about these on NPR yesterday. I guess Twinkies were originally made with banana, but they stopped production when there was a banana shortage in WWII.
10No more Twinkies for me ever. Though I have to admit the regular ones are a lot more 'tasty' than the reduced-fat ones. I had the latter as a kid and was disgusted.
11I HATE twinkies, but I'm oddly intrigued by the original banana flavor so I'll prolly give them a whirl.
12chemicals!!!! ewww
13Absolutely no Twinkies for me!!
14Not a chance.
15Thankfully, I never liked any of the Ho-Ho/Devil Dog/Twinkies or any other Hostess stuff, I just thought they tasted horrible! I think it's because I grew up in an area where the wonderful East Coast treasure of Tastykakes was readily available...
16not an appealing thought, pardon the pun
17I bake a lot, so Twinkies alone are gross to me. Way too processed, and they don't even taste that good...waste of calories too
18Phasekitty, I'm soooooo jealous! I pine for Tastykakes and Drakes cakes!!
19I love twinkies as long as their frozen. So good. But, I avoid them because of all those calories. I can't even remember the last time I had one. But, I may try the banana ones just to see what their like.
20the emprty calories in twinkies are horrible
but
im gonna have to try it anyway.
21I love Twinkies.I might try it just to see how it taste.
22HECK no. that sounds so disgusting plus i don't eat twinkies.
23Gross.
24It doesn't sound very good.
25Mmmmm twinkies, I will try one!
262 things I hate: Bananas and Twinkies, so no I won't be eating that lol
27Eww, I havn't eaten a Twinkie since I was about 7 and even then I thought it was gross!
28twinkies freak me out. they don't taste natural... they taste like some kind of chemical laboratory esperiment.
29Luurve banana flavor, but banana and chocolate is still the ultimate combo.
30Sure my Children would love them!
31No. I don't eat processed "cake" or snack products or whatever you might call them. The chemicals and preservatives in those things are SCARY.
32I hate Twinkies in the first place so...no way!
33hell no
34no. no one should.
35Ew, I dont eat Twinkies. Plus, I hate banana.
36Twinkies. Yuck.
