I'm all for useless and unnecessary covers that personalize or beautify gadgets, foods, and everything in between. But when I saw these silver plated ice cream containers I thought, wow who would honestly buy them?? The idea is to slide the regular old Ben & Jerry's into these silver holders to hide the ugly carton. These containers not only promote extreme excess but over eating as well. Since when did a pretty little bowl become old fashioned? Are we really too lazy to scoop ice cream into a bowl? Before I rant about the horrible eating habits of Americans, tell me silver ice cream containers: love it or hate it?

I think it would look nice to put out if you were having a little get together or something. I mean, I'd probably never buy them, but they look cute
1i think id like those, especially because the usual cardboard cartons get soggy after a few days.
2i usually dish my ice cream into a bowl so i wouldn't use these.
3For an ice cream taste testing party perhaps? I think they're cute for serving to groups, but I agree that it's terrible for personal use.
4Sorry partysugar, i like them. I wouldn't buy them, but they are cute.
5So pointless
6I so love!
7Love them! They're adorable, but I don't know if I'd ever realistically purchase them.
8I seriously don't see the point. Just eat your ice cream!
9agreed, Pink_Lipstick
10They are cute, and you can use it for many other things than ice cream!
11'Excessive' doesn't even begin to explain this.
12i like the cute packages they normally come in
13What a waste.
14I like them. I would never buy them though.
15Just a thought, would the silver not freeze your hands? If so (which I'm assuming they would), it would defeat their whole purpose.
I'm still all for using a bowl.
there is nothing wrong with the regular ice cream containers!! why waste precious time moving ice cream from its original container to the new shiny container? JUST EAT THE ICE CREAM!
16I think they are super cute. They would be great for a party and the guest could take them home as a party favor.
17"there is nothing wrong with the regular ice cream containers!! why waste precious time moving ice cream from its original container to a shiny container? JUST EAT THE ICE CREAM!"
^^Was that directed at me?
18If so, just because I like the way something looks doesn't mean I would buy it. Not once did I say there was anything wrong with the original containers. As I stated above your post, I'm still all for using a bowl. There's no need to scream at a person for having an opinion. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate someone doing it to you.
So cute, I like them.
19Sure, why not!?
20I think it's meant as a fancy way to serve something regular out of a carton at a party. I don't see their target audience being someone lounging in their sweats eating a pint of Cherry Garcia.
21Oh goodness. Those are for *serving* ice cream, not *eating* from. They are covers to unify a nicely designed table as opposed to just plonking down some random sticky-coated container from the freezer (which is covered with what? And how would you serve it?). How funny that you would turn it into a fat American rant.
22cute!
23they're almost $100? omg. i could buy a cheap coat with that rather than two pointless buckets.
UNLESS they were for homemade icecream?
