In addition to being captured in photos by National Geographic, the sustainable food crisis is also the focus of a new documentary. Magnolia Pictures' Food, Inc. is a call to action to change the way America eats. It discusses food consumption today, its heavy dependence on corn, its ties to national policy, and its inevitable impact on our nation's health.
Based on the book Food, Inc. (and similar to The Omnivore's Dilemma), the premise of this film appears to be similar: the country's food system, with its focus on making food bigger, cheaper, and faster, is making America sick. The movie also addresses the contamination issues plaguing the nation and the enormous power wielded by US food corporations, with sustainable food poster boys Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser making appearances in the documentary.

I have been looking forward to this movie for quite a while. We talked about it and had some promotion for it at the Denver Green Festival earlier this month.
1I will definitely be seeing this! I recently watch Death on a Factory Farm about the horrific treatment of pigs. I eat a lot less pork now because of it.
2i heard about it and i hope that it's in a theater here in NYC - which i'm sure that it will be. there's really a lot that you can learn about how you consume food- and it's one of those things that i'm sure will make you really change your habits after seeing the film

9I watched this and it's definitely a must see... we are completely blinded as to where our food comes from. Hopefully it will help to change our diets to healthier ones and in the process help the planet!!
10I hope all of those the no-brainer out there would watch it. It's soo sad to see some knows this very late. But some truly don't care about what they eat. So sad...
11I am sooo thrilled to see this! I hope that it gets the exposure it deserves. People do not stop to think that they are voting with their dollars. When most Americans think about food filling the hunger void is their immediate goal: fast, cheap, easy. They don't think of food as fuel. Garbage in. Garbage out. What kind of energy can you expect from frankenfood?
12I saw this movie, it was a shock. It made me not want to eat for a week... some parts were so sad and knowing this is what goes on is horrible. It was a good movie but a sad reality.
