Recently, I took you with me to Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, CA, a restaurant with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. I've always been a fan of restaurants that offer views of something other than the parking lot or the dry cleaners across the street — although, of course, it's also important that the establishment keeps it focus on the food, too.
In addition to Sam's, I also happen to love the sweeping bay windows that overlook Ocean Beach (and the Pacific) at The Beach Chalet. And in Chicago, nothing beats The Signature Room, especially at night. Tell me: What are your favorite scenic restaurants?

Locally here in Vegas:
1) The Eiffel Tower Restaruant at the Paris Hotel on the strip, has a great view of the strip and of the fountain show at the Bellagio across the street.
2)Panevino's has a nice view of the airport and it's fun to watch the airplanes take off and land, plus they have a beautiful Italian garden right outside the windows if you'd rather focus on that than the strip and the airport.
3) The Stratosphere Restaurant -another great view of the strip although I prefer the Eiffel Tower.
Some favorites from our previous hometown:
1Jackosnville FL:
1) The Chart House has a great view of downtown and the St. Johns River.
2) Clark's Fish Camp a nice view of Julington Creek. A bonus to this restaurant is that it is very casual and not too pricey (unlike most other restaurants with great views).
the sky room in long beach, ca.
2The ChartHouse Weehawken, NJ
3I live in Houston and I used to work at Pappadeaux in Kemah, and it had an amazing view! It was right on the water, right across from the Kemah Boardwalk, and we would always watch the boats go by. It was really pretty.
4Without a doubt, Las Brisas in Luguna Beach, CA!!!
5Sockeye City Diner in Richmond, BC. Wonderful view of the harbour!
6it not a restaurant at all, but when i had an internship at Palisades medical center in NJ, the cafeteria had the most beautiful view of NYC. you couldnt pay for a better view!
7Bisto St. Tropez in Philadelphia, Pa.
8Mama's Fish house in Maui. The restaurant in ocean front with a cute little beach. The best time to go is lunch or an early dinner before the sun goes down!
9Here in Atlanta, you can't beat the Sundial. It's a rotating restaurant at the top of the Westin and it has great views of the city. The hubs and I love going there for special occasions.
10Nepenthe in Big Sur.
11Any where you can sit outside and watch people go by.
12Whiplash, I love Nepenthe! And missavogue, Kemah is a lot of fun, too. I am bookmarking everybody else's for when I travel!
13mine is the beach in Sopot in Poland in the middle of March or in the beggining of April
totally love it
14Top of the 'Cock in Chicago!
15I love the Cornelian Room in SF. But I'm also with cheifdishwasher, I totally love sitting outside and people watching. La plaza de corredera in Cordoba is perfect for that!
16ooh you just reminded me of 2 more in Vegas that are good for sitting outside to people watch. One is Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel and the other is Nine Fine Irishmen at the NY NY hotel. I really like the Nine Fine Irismen.
17The Beach Chalet overlooks Ocean Beach, not Sunset Beach, just fyi...
18The Maracuya restaurant - right on the beach in Arica Chile, not only a stunning view (especially at sunset) but outdoor eating areas to enjoy the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze.
19Canls in Seattle -- gorgeous view of the water!
20Any beach bar in the south of Spain.
21Corrected!
22Yes Canlis in Seattle, but I also LOVE Ray's as well. The Boathouse is nice, but the Cafe upstairs has a deck and it's beautiful!
23Oh, and Marine Room in San Diego. You feel like you're sitting on the beach if you can get a window seat.
