From Alan Wong to 7-Eleven, Here's a Taste of Oahu
While I have been enjoying
staycations, it was nice to recently have a real vacation in Oahu! Sure the beaches are outstanding, but the food is even better. The Hawaiian islands have experienced a bit of a food revolution: Gone are the days when everything was shipped from the mainland. Now the islands make use of their own resources from both the land and sea. The results are wildly delicious. Here, you'll find a taste of my favorites.

I can't believe you didn't mention Giovanni's Shrimp Truck for the North Shore shrimp trucks. Yum!
Also I love the spam musabi at 7 Eleven on Waikiki Beach!
1I can't believe Leonard's malasadas, Matsumoto's shave ice and Rainbow's plate lunch weren't on there!
2Brina- I agree! For me, Leonard's and Matsumoto's are a must when I go back home to visit my parents for the holidays! Also...don't forget the chili at Zippy's!!!
3lol same here! as soon as i step off the plane i make a beeline for the nearest manapua shop! and oh man, there's a great asian market near me (on the mainland) that actually sells frozen Zippy's chili and Portuguese sausage and mochi
now if they would
just stock up on Zippy's vegetarian chili i'd be all set!
