Since a close majority of you enjoy slurping soup year-round regardless of the temperature outside, I'm wondering how you feel about the slow cooker. Although it's ultraconvenient and low maintenance to cook with, do you swap out the slow cooker for a barbecue grill during the warm-weather months?

1actually, i find it more convenient to use the slow cooker on warmer days as it doesn't heat up the house like the oven would.
2not really. we have one and we use it but not really all that often when it's not winter time. i associate it with stews and more hearty things - which are a bit too much for the summer.
3I usually use mine for chili and brisket and stuff like that, so it doesn't get used much in the summer. I do like it for warming beer so I can precook my brats in it before I grill them off. It works good for barbecued meatballs too.
4I'm using mine right now....
5My apartment gets way too hot with the oven on.
Only use it when it's winter, fall and occasionally for spring time when it's chilly.
6We usually grill or do salad for summertime, cooking inside the house just basically heats up the place way too much.
