My favorites are these cheery, bright colored plastic Kitchenaid measuring cups from Target. I can't find them on their Web site, but they're cheap and wonderful to use.
1I don't mind having just one set of measuring cups. Most of the time, I only scoop flour by dipping the cup into the supply. So if a recipe has flour, I do that first. Then almost everything else, I pour into the cup, so I'm not getting flour into my sugar for example.
The measuring spoons on the other hand, you always have to put into the supply, so I wouldn't mind having more than one set.
I'm a big fan of metal measuring cups and spoons. They just feel precise. I'm looking for a good set where each is made from one piece of metal. I feel the weld between the cup and the handle is slightly more annoying to clean possibly. Like if you do need to wash and reuse right away, some moisture can be trapped there and stick to whatever you are measuring. That's getting a little nitpicky. But still, it's a tool you'll likely use for a while, so why not get what you want exactly.
