I make my own dressings probably 75% of the time. The only time I use the store bought stuff is for caesar and ranch because I really like the Kraft Calorie Wise stuff, and sometimes it is
nice to just grab a bottle without having to think.
Yes it is so easy and fresh. I mix Balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dijon mustard , honey and then I whisk in olive oil. I just add different vinegars to the same recipe for
different dressing.
About half and half for me. I don't like most store bought dressings, but I don't feel comfortable making creamier dressings that call for raw eggs at home.
But of course! I do use store bought - I love Kraft's Italian for grilling veggies. Making them yourself allows creativity, especially with flavored vinegars.
I make my own when I have time, or want a specific homemade one I make. Cesar is always store though. I just made a balsamic, black currant dressing that's delicious! Also I have never ever
bought honey mustard dressing, that's a definite homemade one
I love making my own...I just make a big container when I do it so it lasts for the week.
Mostly its balsamic vinegar mixed with dijon mustard, fresh garlic, salt and pepper, srinkle of dried herbs (oreango, tyme), plus a good olive oil.
Some tips: use a glass jar to mix and store the dressing. And shake the mustard and vinegar together before adding the oil..it helps to keep it from seperating later.
I really miss a dressing made and packaged near my hometown (Garlic Expressions, a garlicky Italian vinaigrette), but since I've gotten married, we both tend to just drizzle oil and balsamic
over our salads, though I will sometimes make my own dressings when guests come over (or I make a strawberry spinach salad).
@muse2323, I know several former Ohioans who find Garlic Expressions at Whole Foods locations here in Chicago. If there's one near you, check into it.
Making a simple vinaigrette is simple, and out of the food products with extra artificial crud in them, salad dressings' ingredient lists always seem to gross me out more so than other food
(don't know why). If I don't have time to make vinaigrette, I go with oil and vinegar.
I usually make my own viniagrette. I make it lower in fat by using less olive oil and more vinegar. I throw in salt and pepper and a little Dijon mustard to richen it up. It's a lot cheaper
than buying the store-bought stuff.
I don't, because I don't really cook, but my husband always makes his own dressings for our salads. They are always fantastic and way better than store bought!
I always make homemade dressings! I grew up with it, and so it's all I'm used to - bottled dressings are full of sodium and preservatives. My favourite is extra virgin olive oil mixed with
fig balsamic vinegar and pressed garlic! My mom makes amazing caesar salad dressing, but I don't have the recipe, so I always get her to make it when I go over.
Quite often, but not ALWAYS! Sometimes I like something someone else has made. I hate shopping for storebought because I'm picky about ingredients...like HFCS and hydrogenated oils.

5If it is a vinaigrette, I will. Like tslgirl, I don't feel comfortable with raw egg dressings

7no, i think store bought ones are much more convenient. but then again, if i had any time at all, i would do my own
8Almost always! Olive oil, vinegar/lemon, mustard, seasoning.
9Squeeze of lemon, swirl of good EVOO, sprinkle of maldon sea salt and a few turns of the pepper mill.
10If it's a vinaigrette - yes, I will make it. I buy creamy dressings from the store.
11I make my own when I have time, or want a specific homemade one I make. Cesar is always store though. I just made a balsamic, black currant dressing that's delicious! Also I have never ever bought honey mustard dressing, that's a definite homemade one
12rarely. i prefer the non-fat/zero calorie dressings and homemade dressings usually tend to call for fatty ingredients.
13yes, i always make my own dressing.
14I have a couple of store bought favorites that I can't pass up, but I do make my own bleu cheese dressing and my vinaigrette.
15I often make my own.
16I have only made my own dressing once. I don't eat a lot of salad so most of it went to waste.

18I always make my own dressing. Cheaper, healthier, and much more delicious!
19Sometimes, though I do love Annie's Goddess dressing and will pay for that
20It's half-half for me. I make my own when I have time or when I couldn't be bothered to go to the store.
21sometimes.
22i am the worst salad dressing maker ever
sadly, store bought is what i am left with.

26Almost always. It's yummier and I'm scared of products with five lines of ''ingredients'' that I can't pronounce.

28Love homemade dressings! I love vinegar so I like to add way more of that than you would get in a traditional dressing ratio (or in store bought!).
