But as much as I love our country's biggest icons — like hot dogs and hamburgers — there's one genre of American cuisine that can't go overlooked, and that's soul food. So begins my summer of cooking most of these foods, but too tired afterwards to eat them... 7/7 Whoa!!
1I hope my dead relatives are not rolling in their graves (my great grandparents owned a soul-food restaurant) but I love Vegan Soul Kitchen for alternatives to some of this food.

3I know that people claim that there's a different between chicken fried steak and country fried steak, but every restaurant that I've ever been in has used the terms interchangably, and I don't argue with the moms and pops--"food authorities" can argue all they like.
