When we recently posed the question of whether you'd be willing to wear a wine necklace to free your hands at a food event, most of you responded with a resounding no. Here's another multitasking solution for your next food fête: an appetizer plate sized to fit a wine glass, so you can carry both in one hand. While it's more spill-proof and less risqué than a wine necklace, it does cover the glass entirely, making it harder to throw back a few drinks. How do you feel about it?

I like the idea for small, bite-sized apps. If you're serving something larger, i like the type that holds your wine glass in the plate though. like these: http://www.nextag.com/wine-plates/shop-html
This idea is more tasteful than the wine necklace idea. It makes it more convenient at cocktail parties, seems less of a balancing act.
The tradition of serving small snacks with drinks is found all over Spain. These snacks are called tapas which literally means a cover or lid.
awesome, adorable, convenient..i want some.
LOVE it. and you can totally knock back some drinks, just pick up the plate in between bites. for ME this thing may be good to block some errant sips
It sounds great! I always do this at parties, but since most appetizer plates don't fit in the mouth of the glass, they slide everywhere! (and I am an awful juggler.)
I have some of those little app plates that have a hole for hanging a wine glass off. I registered for a ton of them for my wedding, haven't used them yet though. I need to find an excuse to!
Brilliant!
not suitable for a party where numerous sizes of glasses are being used, though.
there's just something wrong with having food on top of my wine glass...so i'm going to say that i don't care for it at all.
Well, it's one way to make the term "tapas" literal again. I kind of love this idea...it keeps you from sloshing your drink too much and you only need one hand to carry your food around.
I think these are fantastic. I'm going to have to send my boss this link, because we do a lot of cocktail parties (I work for a caterer) and this would be a big hit, I think!
Inventive, practical and cute idea for entertaining.
love it...i totally had this idea like two years ago...missed out on that, darn!
love it! I go to lots of networking events for school and its hard to do hold a glass, plate and shake hands! i usually eat apps first, then get a drink so i can always have a hand free.
Perfect for outdoor BBQs
I like the concept. Not so sure I'd like it in practice.
