omg party such a good idea!!!!! to me it all depends on the margarita... I make a really legit one with real lime juice and limeade concentrate, so its tart and salt would mess it up, but if
im out and they use sweet and sour or margarita mix, the salt can cut the sugary taste

5I like tequila shots, but for some reason, the salt is just too intense on the rim of a margarita.
