I used to eat in front of the tv a lot more when I was living alone. These days we do sometimes on weekends - eating pizza and watching movies, but weekdays are always at the table.
We don't have a table, haha...so we eat in front of the TV. We got rid of a lot of stuff before we moved, and we got rid of our table with the hopes of getting a new one. We love Ikea, but
since we live so far away from it, we just don't even bother. We just discussed it, and we will do it sometime before January, I'm sure!
If hubby and I are watching a movie, we'll occasionally have a snack, but if we're eating a meal, it's at the table. I look forward to having dinner together and sharing about our day - can't
seem to do that with the TV on. However, I do know that when I'm not there, hubby will always eat in front of the TV; he's even got a placemat stashed under the coffee table for regular use.
My husband and I certainly do but that's ONLY because we don't have a kitchen table. If we did, THAT'S where I'd insist we ate our meals. I don't think it's that great of a habit to eat
dinner in front of the TV.
Yeah, my fiancee and I eat in front of the TV. Only because we don't have enough room for a dining table/kitchenette in our apartment. But once we have a place that's big enough, we will be
eating at the table
My parents insisted that we eat at the table every day when I was growing up (in fact, we weren't even allowed to eat outside of the dinner table...no eating in the living room). So, for that
reason, I eat in front of the TV all the time now!
Only when I am alone and I eat something that isn't messy. We eat most meals at the dinning table, TV off. It's just really important to me to enjoy the food and the company.
Hmmm. During the week, I leave for work before my son and husband so I have no idea what goes on but I suspect Spongebob is on. I'm pretty lax about TV during breakfast on the weekends and we
usually go out for lunch. Dinner is always family time w/out TV. We're known for enjoying dessert while watching a comedy though!
i dont know why i was so surprised to read that im not the only one that eats in front of the tv. i live alone and i have a dining room table but its just too depressing to eat in front of
the wood wall.
the worst of it is that i eat in bed, in front of the tv. you should poll to see how many people eat meals in bed. THAT is a terrible habit.
My family always ate in front of the TV while I was growing up. The rest of the family still does so now, but I have to admit that I tend to read while I eat dinner. Is that even worse?
I live with my mom and we haven't eaten at the table in a long while. We work different hours so I usually eat alone in front of the TV. When she's here she joins me in front of the TV lol.
But sometimes she eats at the table while reading the paper or a book.
I'll eat lunch in front of the TV, but dinner is always at the table with the hubby and kids. I want my kids to know the importance of a family dinner!
I eat in front of the TV but only because the TV is in the view of the kitchen table. I do crossword puzzles and eat and watch TV at the same time. I'm quite the multitasker.
I'm not home a lot during the week, so by the time I get home (around 8:30-9), I want to zone out in front of the TV with dinner - it's the only time I really have to catch up on anything I
want to watch.
Sundays, though, me & the bf cook together, and we try to always eat in the dining room at his house.
absolutely not. growing up every memory i have includes a tv program playing in the background. i swear "come on down!" and people running down to bob barker will flash before my eyes on my
death bed. we don't even have tv. when we go to my dad's house (my mom is dead now) the tv is still ALWAYS ON. even when no one is in the room.
i remember bringing my now husband home to meet my parents and he asked if they could turn the tv down (it was in the other room). my parents looked at each other like he was a FREAK and my
dad said, very sarcastically "no. because if we turn it down then we won't be able to hear it!"

1I live alone so I normally catch up on my shows while I eat dinner.
2the only time i watch tv, is when i'm eating. but i eat in front of the computer too
3I don't own a TV. But I do cook & eat in front of my computer playing last night's daily show on hulu.
4I always eat at the table. Sometimes the TV will be on in the backround, but I'm not usually watching it while I eat.

6My boyfriend and i and think it is a terrible habit.
7I meant to say my boyfriend and I do all the time and it is a terrible habit

9Heck, I have a TV in the bathroom........one in my place of work......and of course one in front of my tv tray!
10Yes. I have a eating counter (in the kitchen) that overlooks the living room where the TV is at.
11My husband and I certainly do but that's ONLY because we don't have a kitchen table. If we did, THAT'S where I'd insist we ate our meals. I don't think it's that great of a habit to eat dinner in front of the TV.
12All the time. Especially with a movie.
13Yeah, my fiancee and I eat in front of the TV. Only because we don't have enough room for a dining table/kitchenette in our apartment. But once we have a place that's big enough, we will be eating at the table
14I do when I eat alone but when the hubby is home we sit at the table.
15My parents insisted that we eat at the table every day when I was growing up (in fact, we weren't even allowed to eat outside of the dinner table...no eating in the living room). So, for that reason, I eat in front of the TV all the time now!
16I prefer to eat in front of the tv when I am by myself. If I was eating with someone, I will eat without the television.
17Only when I am alone and I eat something that isn't messy. We eat most meals at the dinning table, TV off. It's just really important to me to enjoy the food and the company.

19yes i do. for every meal and i think it's a terrible habit that i need to break. I'm just training myself to eat whenever I'm in front of the tv
20I do when I'm by myself, and I think it's awful!
the couch is just so comfortable... lol
A bad side effect of this is that I get hungry every time I turn on the TV.
21i dont know why i was so surprised to read that im not the only one that eats in front of the tv. i live alone and i have a dining room table but its just too depressing to eat in front of the wood wall.

23At the table BUT we have a TV in the kitchen, not on while dinner is served.
24My husband and I always eat in front of the TV but when we have kids I'll insist we eat at the table.
25I always eat in the kitchen and never in front of the telly/computer. I used to, but I tended to eat a lot more.

29If I'm home alone, then I do...
30Like some have said, if Iam alone then I do, because it's kinda depressing to eat alone.
31akapluto now you have me curious!
32In the winter, my fiance and I eat in front of the TV, but in the summer, we always eat outside!

no, no, no! no tv at meals!
36I was worried I'd be the only one with an unused dining table!
