I used to have a great roof deck on my old apartment, but i traded a nice backyard for a new house with a parking spot in the city. I happy to take no out door eating, over stress of looking
for parking.
I live on a military installation, in a huge house with lots of apartments in it.. we don't have individual garden areas, but we do have a spot for BBQing right in front of the house, with
stone benches and tables, and also miles and miles of grass around.
We'll eat on the patio outside in the backyard, or I'll spread a blanket on the grass in either the front or back yards, and have a picnic with the kids!
We don't have enough of a yard to be able to eat outside, but sometimes we set up a table and chairs in the garage and leave the door open and let the breeze come in.
We just bought a house with a covered balcony/deck that overlooks the backyard and it's so serene (unless the guy next door is blasting Nickleback)... And the previous tenants thoughtfully
installed a ceiling fan over the table area, though we aren't sure what its purpose is. Bug control, maybe?

We have an semi-enclosed balcony. It's nice to have some drinks on, but as for eating...we don't do it much out there.

3I always try to avoid eating outdoors. I don't like it.
4When at my apartment I eat in our garden - the jasmine smells so good in the spring. I eat outside whenever I can!
PS Love those girls with scarves in the pic
